About The Position

The Senior Payroll Tax Analyst is responsible for overseeing and managing all aspects of payroll tax compliance. This role requires close collaboration with our outsourced tax filing partner to ensure timely and accurate filings, resolve complex issues, and maintain adherence to federal, state, and local regulations. Operating independently, the Analyst applies advanced payroll principles and standard operating procedures to ensure compliance and efficiency. This role also includes designing and implementing payroll audit methodologies, reviewing cases with the outsource provider, and leading initiatives that enhance payroll accuracy and performance. At Boston Scientific, we value collaboration and synergy. This role follows a hybrid work model requiring employees to be in our Marlborough, MA or Arden Hills, MN office at least three days per week. Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in accounting, finance, business administration, or related discipline.
  • Minimum of 5 years' experience in U.S. payroll tax within a multi-state, multi-entity environment.
  • Strong analytical skills and attention to detail.

Responsibilities

  • Validating and confirming tax filings using applied audit principles and designed controls.
  • Developing tools to monitor tax agency notices and tracers, resolve issues, and track trends.
  • Maintaining company state and local tax jurisdiction registrations.
  • Reconciling third-party tax reports and payroll tax reports to ensure accurate monthly, quarterly, and annual reporting.
  • Developing, managing, and implementing continuous process improvement initiatives in collaboration with the outsource partner.
  • Filing and reporting local taxes, workers’ compensation, and labor statistics with agencies.
  • Contributing to year-end planning and year-end processes.
  • Leading payroll continuous process improvement initiatives to completion.
  • Organizing and maintaining documentation of payroll procedures using flow charts and standard operating procedures (SOPs).
  • Participating in year-end and year-begin projects to support delivery of accurate and timely annual wage and tax statements.
  • Responding to payroll tax inquiries from employees and tax authorities.
  • Maintaining accurate payroll tax records and documentation.
  • Staying updated on changes in payroll tax laws and regulations.
