About Busek Busek is a Massachusetts-based aerospace company specializing in advanced electric propulsion systems and spacecraft components for government and commercial space missions. The company designs, builds, and tests propulsion hardware used on satellites and deep-space programs. Busek operates as a highly collaborative, engineering-driven organization supporting cutting-edge space technology. As Busek continues to grow, we are strengthening our internal infrastructure to support increasing headcount and program expansion. Primary Responsibilities Serve as the primary owner of payroll and benefits administration for the organization. Process and manage bi-weekly payroll accurately and in compliance with federal, state, and local regulations. Administer employee benefits programs including health, dental, vision, 401(k), leave programs, and other benefit offerings. Ensure compliance with wage and hour laws, tax regulations, and company policies. Maintain and audit payroll records, deductions, garnishments, bonuses, and PTO tracking. Partner with Finance on payroll reconciliation, reporting, and audit readiness. Manage open enrollment processes, benefits communication, and employee education. Serve as a trusted resource for employees regarding payroll and benefits questions. Coordinate with external vendors (payroll provider, benefits brokers, 401(k) administrator). Support HR reporting and data analytics related to compensation and benefits trends. Assist with continuous process improvement to build scalable, compliant HR infrastructure. Maintain confidentiality and handle sensitive employee information with the highest level of integrity.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources, Business, Accounting, or related field preferred.
  • 5+ years of payroll and benefits administration experience.
  • Strong understanding of multi-state payroll compliance and employment regulations.
  • High level of accuracy and attention to detail.
  • Proficiency with payroll and HRIS systems.
  • Strong communication and problem-solving skills.
  • Ability to operate independently while collaborating cross-functionally.

  • Experience working in a fast-paced, technical or manufacturing environment preferred.
