About The Position

Mortenson is currently seeking a Senior Payroll Administrator to manage and ensure the accuracy of end-to-end time capture and reconciliation of timecards.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in Accounting or Finance, or equivalent education and experience
  • Minimum five years payroll experience in a multi-state environment
  • Positive, professional attitude with excellent customer service skills
  • Ability to balance multiple priorities with a sense of urgency
  • High accuracy in following complex processes and implementing improvements
  • Knowledge of Fair Labor Standards Act, state payroll requirements, federal and state payroll taxes, and standard accounting procedures
  • Must be currently legally authorized to work in the U.S. without sponsorship for employment visa status (e.g., H1B status, 0-1, TN, CPT, OPT, etc.). We are unable to sponsor or take over sponsorship of an employment Visa at this time.

Nice To Haves

  • Preferred knowledge of Passport timekeeping, Oracle payroll, or ADP
  • Experience with unions and CPP certification a plus

Responsibilities

  • Implement end-to-end Time capture process, including regulatory and union work rules, audit, time transfer, reporting, and filings
  • Review and reconcile timecards before weekly and bi-weekly pay runs
  • Prepare and review weekly timekeeping/payroll reports, including data entry and associated reporting
  • Retain time and attendance records for historical questions and audits
  • Prepare and audit time records for daily off-cycle checks
  • Maintain and test systems during enhancements, upgrades, or new work rules
  • Research and resolve complex payroll inquiries from project teams, business services, or team members
  • Liaison for Payroll team with project teams, ensuring correct recording of worked hours

  • The base pay range for this role is $37.50 - $50.62. (Actual range is higher for the following office locations: Denver, CO and Chicago, IL – 5%, Seattle, WA, and Portland, OR – 10%, Washington, D.C. – 12.5%). Base pay is positioned within the range based on several factors including an individual’s knowledge, skills, and experience, with consideration given to internal equity.
  • This position is eligible for Mortenson’s incentive plan.
