About The Position

Bressler is seeking a Senior Payroll Administrator to join its Morristown, NJ HR team. This individual will serve a key function in performing all aspects of payroll with the main object to be the management of the exempt and non-exempt payroll cycle for over 225 people. In this role, you will assist various leaders to ensure the accuracy of payroll including oversight of wage calculations, bonus and distribution payrolls, overtime, reimbursements, and tax and wage deductions.

Requirements

  • 10+ years of payroll experience, preferably in a law firm and multi-state environment
  • In-depth knowledge of payroll processing, tax principles, wage and hour laws by State
  • Proficiency in ADP Payroll, and hands on use of Microsoft Word, Excel, Outlook and PowerPoint
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Strong attention to detail with excellent analytical, multitasking, and judgment capabilities; and
  • Ability to effectively work independently and in a cross functional team environment

Responsibilities

  • Through ADP, prepare calculation of wages, overtime, and all employee payroll deductions for 225 employees, semi-monthly to ensure compliance with federal, state, and local payroll laws Calculate wages, overtime, shift differentials, commissions, bonuses, and other earnings
  • Communicates with ADP team regarding payroll system setup and for resolution of issues related to payroll tax filings; manage and track support cases to ensure they are completed and resolved
  • Manage all year-end payments; bonus, disbursements, increases, time-off adjustments, and any additional payments typically the last week of December
  • Updates new hire information and employee status changes because of promotions, transfers, terminations, and other events that impact the processing of employee payroll
  • Works with the finance and accounting teams on recording of the semi-monthly payroll, benefit invoices, 401k, and payroll account reconciliations.
  • Provides salary data, census reports, and other data necessary to assist finance, marketing and HR with RFP, surveys, and audits
  • Prepare and submit payroll-related filings and reports, including W 2, and year-end adjustments.
  • Respond to employee payroll inquiries regarding pay, taxes, deductions, and timekeeping
  • Assist employees with direct deposit changes, tax forms, and payroll system navigation
  • Trains new hires on the use of the ADP system, as well as educates the employee population on payroll and ADP features through PowerPoint presentations
