About The Position

Metropolis is seeking an enthusiastic and driven Senior Paralegal ready to lead legal operations and corporate governance support. In this role, you will work closely with the Legal Operations team and the broader Legal Department, acting as a vital bridge between business stakeholders and legal leadership. You will support the business by providing clear reporting, actionable data insights, and high-level information intelligence to ensure informed decision-making across the organization.

Requirements

  • 5+ years of progressive in-house experience within a sophisticated corporate legal department; candidates coming directly from a law firm should demonstrate significant "secondment" experience or a practice dedicated exclusively to in-house client operations
  • Extensive hands-on experience managing a high volume of legal entities across multiple jurisdictions, including deep familiarity with Secretary of State filing processes
  • Proven ability to manage and leverage legal technology, including contract management databases and AI-driven legal tools, to increase departmental efficiency
  • Exceptional ability to translate complex legal data into clear, concise reports and summaries for business partners
  • Exceptional communication skills with the ability to draft professional correspondence and precise document summaries
  • Hardworking, detail-oriented, and enthusiastic professional who thrives in a collaborative and close-knit team environment, championing an “Owner Mentality”
  • Ability to work effectively under pressure, prioritize multiple high-stakes tasks, and meet tight deadlines with minimal supervision

Nice To Haves

  • Paralegal Certification from an ABA-approved program or a Bachelor’s degree
  • Specific experience with SaaS-based legal tools or AI implementation
  • Notary Public commission
  • Commercial contracting experience

Responsibilities

  • Lead the lifecycle management of legal entities, including the creation, dissolution, and maintenance of subsidiaries, and the preparation of complex corporate resolutions and certificates
  • Develop and maintain clear reporting structures to track contract statuses, entity compliance, and departmental KPIs, providing the business with "clean" and actionable data
  • Manage and optimize legal workflows, including the intake process, contract repository management, and the implementation/administration of Legal-grade AI systems, contract life-cycle management, and legal entity management tools
  • Manage the legal department’s calendar for compliance deadlines, coordinate state filings and business licenses, and handle formal legal correspondence and letter drafting
  • Provide essential high-level support to the General Counsel and other Legal Leadership on special projects and complex transactions
  • Perform initial reviews, draft standard commercial agreements, and summarize complex legal documents to provide actionable insights for the legal and business teams
