We’re looking for a Senior Onsite Safety Coordinator who not only understands safety — but leads it. As a Senior Onsite Safety Coordinator , you will serve as a key leader on active construction projects, working closely with Superintendents, project teams, subcontractors, and the Safety Operations Manager. You’ll be responsible for driving safety performance, supporting field operations, and mentoring onsite safety team members. This is a fast-paced, high-impact field role where you’ll balance leadership, problem-solving, and hands-on safety management every day.

Requirements

  • Has 6+ years of construction safety experience (preferred)
  • Holds OSHA 500 certification and First Aid/CPR training
  • Has strong knowledge of OSHA standards and construction safety practices
  • Demonstrates leadership, confidence, and sound judgment in fast-paced environments
  • Can effectively coach, mentor, and influence teams at all levels
  • Communicates clearly and professionally, both verbally and in writing
  • Is highly organized and able to manage multiple priorities at once
  • Maintains a solutions-focused, team-first mindset
  • Is comfortable using technology for reporting and documentation (HammerTech, Microsoft Office, etc.)

Nice To Haves

  • Experience in areas such as excavation, fall protection, confined space, silica, NFPA 70E, and LOTOTO is strongly preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Serve as the lead onsite safety professional, supporting Superintendents and project teams
  • Oversee and enforce compliance with OSHA regulations, company policies, and site-specific safety requirements
  • Conduct and document weekly safety inspections and ensure timely submission of reports
  • Identify hazards, perform daily risk assessments, and take immediate corrective action when needed
  • Act as a competent person onsite , with the authority to stop work and correct unsafe conditions
  • Review and monitor subcontractor safety programs to ensure alignment with project standards
  • Lead and support Toolbox Talks, Stretch & Flex, and daily PTP/JSA meetings in an engaging, team-focused manner
  • Communicate safety expectations clearly and professionally with all levels of the project team
  • Report and manage all incidents, injuries, equipment damage, or theft in accordance with company protocols
  • Coordinate with Safety leadership and Superintendents on corrective actions and safety initiatives
  • Maintain accurate and organized safety documentation, inspections, and compliance records
  • Ensure jobsite readiness, including PPE compliance, safety supplies, and overall site safety conditions
  • Mentor and support Onsite Safety Coordinators to grow their knowledge and field effectiveness
  • Assist with onboarding and training of new safety team members
  • Promote a strong, positive safety culture that encourages participation and accountability
  • Partner with Safety leadership to continuously improve company-wide safety programs
  • Lead by example — building trust, credibility, and respect in the field
