We are seeking a Senior Network Engineer to support the Missile Defense Agency (MDA), providing hands-on network engineering expertise across design, implementation, sustainment, and operational support of mission-critical networks.

Requirements

  • Must have 8 years of general (full-time) work experience
  • May be reduced with completion of advanced education
  • Must have 6 years of directly related experience with: Internet Protocols (DNS, HTTP, SMTP, SSL) Firewall configuration and troubleshooting Multiple network types (LAN, WAN, VxLAN, SDN) VoIP telecommunications infrastructures
  • Must have experience with Cisco or Juniper routers, switches, firewalls, OSPF, NAT, SNMP, Syslog, VRF, and network timing systems
  • Must have at least 1 year of leadership or management experience
  • Must be proficient with IP addressing, subnetting, and DNS
  • Must have, or obtain within 120 days of start, a DoD 8570 IAT Level II certification (e.g., Security+)
  • Must be able to support after-hours events
  • Must have an active DoD Secret Security Clearance

Nice To Haves

  • Experience supporting Missile Defense Agency missions, systems, or networks
  • Experience with PIM, multicast, and Type I encryption devices
  • CCNA or JNCIA certification
  • Experience with network monitoring tools
  • Experience with SolarWinds Orion
  • Experience supporting VMware virtual environments
  • Experience using Microsoft Visio for network diagrams
  • Familiarity with Systems Engineering lifecycle, ITIL, or related frameworks

Responsibilities

  • Coordinate closely with project managers and service area representatives to plan and execute network design and implementation efforts
  • Review engineering documentation to ensure quality and maintain responsibility for assigned projects and tasks
  • Provide expertise supporting Cisco, Juniper, and KG-175 Taclane technologies
  • Review, design, configure, install, and test IT network and boundary protection devices and systems
  • Perform daily hands-on operations including monitoring, troubleshooting, restoration, and testing of C2BMC networks
  • Conduct site surveys and support development of technical network solutions
  • Configure, install, test, and sustain network infrastructure and boundary protection systems
  • Perform data collection and validation of network services and devices
  • Maintain technical expertise across routers, firewalls, gateways, and network interconnections
  • Provide team leadership, mentoring, and technical guidance
  • Validate network designs in accordance with industry best practices and DoD policies
