About The Position

As a Senior Network Engineer you are responsible for installing, configuring, administering, evaluating, and implementing voice or data network infrastructure. This advanced-level job classification demonstrates significant technical expertise in one or more of the following technical areas: voice/ data communications, software development, operating systems or information security. This position occasionally leads small teams in successfully executing voice/data network infrastructure-related projects.

  • BA/BS in Computer Science or related subject or equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • Minimum of three (5) years professional experience related to analytical or network system support, or the equivalent combination of education, training and experience.
  • Applying appropriate engineering design tools and software packages to design components and solutions.
  • Knowledge of routing protocols, and network threat detection & remediation.
  • Knowledge of switching and wireless technologies and protocols.
  • Knowledge of next generation firewall systems.
  • Knowledge of automation tools and operating system scripting languages like: BASH, PowerShell, Python, etc.
  • Permanent residency in California or Nevada is a condition of employment for this position.

Responsibilities

  • Organize, align and evolve hardware development initiatives.
  • Update and manage tickets through resolution with vendors and internal support groups.
  • Collaborate with DevOps teams, project management and product management teams to understand and validate hardware and virtual systems requirements.
  • Contribute project teams responsible for all stages of development across multiple engineering disciplines for complex products, platforms, systems, software, and technology solutions.
  • Manage and expand relationships with internal and outsourced development partners on engineering design and development.
  • Review and evaluate designs and project activities for compliance with technology and development guidelines and standards; provide tangible feedback to improve product quality.
  • Provide domain-specific expertise and overall engineering perspective to cross-organization projects, programs, and activities
  • Implement innovation and integration of new technologies into projects and activities in the engineering design organization.
