About The Position

SAIC is seeking a Senior Network Engineer to support USINDOPACOM J76 located at the K. Mark Takai Pacific Warfighting Center to provide senior-level network engineering and implementation, oversight of PTEN Network Administrators and a comprehensive understanding of PTEN systems supporting classified and unclassified joint training and exercise environments across the Indo-Pacific region. Serve as Senior Network Engineer for all PWC-owned networks. Receive direction, oversight, tasking and technical direction from the Networks Section Chief to design, deploy, operate and sustain the PTEN network environments in support of the Joint Exercise Program (JEP). Plan, coordinate, and execute modernization activities aligned with DoD Zero Trust and Risk Management Framework (RMF) compliance goals. Assist in development and implementation of procedures for PTEN operational readiness, cybersecurity posture and integration with RJTI nodes. Manage lifecycle planning for hardware, software, and network components supporting unclassified and classified exercises. Coordinate with stakeholders across USINDOPACOM J7, component commands, and external agencies to ensure alignment of PTEN with broader enterprise initiatives. Provide on-site technical leadership during planning, setup, execution and after-action phases. Develop continuity plans, technical documentation, and lessons learned to enhance future PTEN deployments. Support integration of new capabilities and modernization efforts required to maintain operational readiness and cybersecurity compliance. Train and mentor PTEN Network Administrators to ensure technical competency of PTEN Network Administrators and delegate technical workload as necessary to ensure continuity of PWC operations. Additional IT Network duties as required to support J76 Division and J7 Directorate. SAIC accepts applications on an ongoing basis and there is no deadline. Requirements

  • Bachelors and five (5)+ years of experience; additional four (4) years of experience accepted in lieu of degree.
  • Experience as a Network Engineer; designing, deploying, and sustaining network environments.
  • Working knowledge of DoD Risk Management Framework (RMF), best cybersecurity practices and emerging Zero Trust requirements.
  • In-depth Knowledge and experience in Networking technologies, Wide Area Networks, Local Area Networks, Wireless Networks, Type 1 Encryption, Software Defined Networking, Firewalls, VPN, and securing networks.
  • Must have a current DoD 8570 IAT II compliance certification (Security+ CE or greater), prior to hire.
  • Must have an active Secret clearance with ability to obtain a TS/SCI clearance.
  • Must be a current US Citizen.

  • Foundational knowledge of cloud and cloud technology preferred.
