Position Purpose: Builds and maintains data communication networks and optimizing processes, procedures, and standards for the operation of effective data networks, specific to LAN/WAN, mobility, and third-party network management. Monitors network performance, coordinates planned maintenance, adjusts hardware components, and responds to network connectivity issues. Administers network systems and solutions for the connectivity of all state and remote offices, technology centers and facilities Oversees problem isolation, issue resolution, and escalation management according to predefined protocols Manages the identification and escalation for all operational events affecting production environment requiring 24/7/365 uptime Maintains and documents all network solutions and migrate solutions from development and testing to production Executes and guides the completion of large-scale network services engineering projects Performs operating system backups and restores network servers Facilitates the execution of network hardware and software life-cycle management policies and procedures to meet business needs and ensure compliance with acquisition and asset management best-practices Maintains processes, procedures and standards for the operation of effective data networks, specific to LAN/WAN, mobility and third-party network management Designs and maintains network management architecture for specific network and telecom components including event monitoring and alerting Monitors the execution of carrier service level agreements for all Centene’s network service contracts Designs and implements major network infrastructure projects, solutions, and upgrades within the enterprise infrastructure Maintains knowledge of current trends and developments and provides recommendations to IT Operations management on network technologies and issues to build better solutions that support and drive business decisions Performs other duties as assigned Complies with all policies and standards

Requirements

  • A Bachelor's degree in a quantitative or business field (e.g., statistics, mathematics, engineering, computer science) and Requires 4 – 6 years of related experience. Or equivalent experience acquired through accomplishments of applicable knowledge, duties, scope and skill reflective of the level of this position.
  • Experience with traffic management technologies such as Netscaler or F5 (Load Balancing, cert management, WAF)
  • Experience with Cisco Firewalls
  • Experience with enterprise wide network projects, including fault tolerant LAN/WAN/SANs and disaster recovery
  • Experience with cloud and/or adjacent technologies (Aviatrix, Megaport)
  • Experience with Storage Area Network
  • Experience with MPLS, ATM, Frame Relay, and SONET network deployments
  • Experience with the implementation and design of QoS and traffic priorities
  • Intermediate - Seeks to acquire knowledge in area of specialty
