The Impact You Will Have The Senior Network Engineer, I is responsible for the analysis, installation, configuration, maintenance, security, and support of the enterprise-wide LAN, WAN, wireless, and network security infrastructure. This role ensures network availability, reliability, and performance align with business requirements. The position requires strong technical expertise in monitoring, securing, and maintaining a complex enterprise network environment.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, or a related field, or equivalent professional experience.
  • 7+ years of experience as a Network Engineer in a mid- to large-scale enterprise environment.
  • Active CCNA certification or equivalent technical experience preferred.
  • Experience working with Cisco networking technologies, including routing, switching (Catalyst), and ISR/ASR routers.
  • Experience supporting network security technologies, including Cisco Identity Services Engine (ISE), Cisco Firepower Threat Defense (FTD/FMC), and zero-trust access solutions (Cisco Secure Access).
  • Experience implementing network security controls such as 802.1X authentication, network segmentation, and network access control (NAC).
  • Experience troubleshooting and supporting complex enterprise network environments.
  • Strong knowledge of enterprise Cisco network architecture across LAN and WAN environments.
  • Knowledge of firewall technologies, including Cisco FTD and Cisco ASA.
  • Understanding of zero-trust network access concepts and security best practices.
  • Knowledge of Cisco Enterprise Wireless, Cisco Meraki, or other enterprise wireless solutions.
  • Ability to design scalable, secure, and highly available network solutions.
  • Strong problem-solving and analytical skills with the ability to diagnose complex technical issues.
  • Effective verbal and written communication skills, including technical documentation and diagramming.
  • Customer-focused mindset with a commitment to quality and continuous improvement.
  • Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a fast-paced environment.
  • Willingness to participate in an on-call rotation and travel domestically up to 25% as needed.
  • Ability to show ownership of your work, take on challenges and acknowledge growth opportunities, and demonstrate patience when learning new processes

Responsibilities

  • Provide Tier I–III support for LAN/WAN-related issues.
  • Configure, administer, and maintain Cisco networking technologies, including routers and switches supporting critical business applications.
  • Configure and manage firewall policies and threat protection using Cisco Firepower Threat Defense (FTD) and Firepower Management Center (FMC).
  • Design, implement, and maintain secure network access using Cisco Identity Services Engine (ISE).
  • Deploy and support zero-trust network access solutions using Cisco Secure Access.
  • Manage and execute network-related projects, ensuring alignment with industry best practices and standards for scalability, security, and performance.
  • Lead troubleshooting efforts, including diagnosis, resolution, escalation, and implementation of workaround solutions.
  • Provide advanced technical support and mentorship to peers and internal teams.
  • Participate in an on-call rotation to support operational and project-related needs.
  • Track, analyze, and remediate vulnerabilities identified by the Information Security team.
  • Perform other duties as assigned
