About The Position

This position is onsite at the Corporate Headquarters located in Kenosha, WI. Snap-on is seeking a Network Engineer I at its Corporate Headquarters in Kenosha, WI. As a Network Engineer I, you will be an individual contributor responsible for the support and management of our enterprise network. You will work closely with other network team members, cross-functional teams, and internal customers. A successful candidate will be highly motivated and be driven to develop long-term solutions with limited supervision.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field; or alternatively equivalent enterprise networking experience; or relevant industry certifications.
  • 3-5 years of experience in network engineering or related field
  • Experience with Cisco network equipment (routers, switches, firewalls, etc.)
  • Solid understanding of TCP/IP, OSI model, routing protocols (OSPF, BGP), VLANs, DNS, and DHCP
  • Excellent problem-solving abilities, communication skills, and an eagerness to learn
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team

Responsibilities

  • Serve as the primary point of contact for network-related incident response tickets, taking ownership of tickets from initial receipt to resolution or escalation.
  • Assist senior network engineers in implementing network infrastructure projects.
  • Responsible for network events as they occur
  • Install and configure network hardware and software
  • Support network security initiatives such as access controls and segmentation
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to identify and address network-related issues
  • Document network configurations, processes, and procedures
  • Participate in on-call rotation
