We are looking for an experienced Senior Process Engineer with extensive experience in epoxy applications to join our US team to manage and continuously improve manufacturing processes, bring strong improvements to assembly methods: manual or automated, and drive manual tool development. Glueing process experience is required. As a Senior Process Engineer you feel equally comfortable working hands-on at the factory floor as you do in driving Design for Manufacturability in new product development projects across all levels of leadership. This is a hybrid position based in San Francisco requiring 3 days per week in the office. You will contribute to product design through DFM work and collaborate closely with R&D Engineers, factories and external partners, like suppliers, as needed.

Requirements

  • You have a strong background developing and implementing epoxy processing applications, including, but not limited to: Injection Molding, Transfer molding, and Open Mold
  • Proven track record working in/with consumer electronics manufacturing .
  • Hands on experience of electronics assembly processes, automation , and collaboration with factories.
  • Experience in miniaturized product design s.
  • Strong background in contributing to product design (DFM), design of manufacturing tooling and manufacturing equipment .
  • Knowledge of manufacturing process parameters and statistical process control as well as experience in developing and fine-tuning process control methods and improving yields.
  • You work collaboratively and effectively in a complex environment and with cross-functional teams, external parties, and factories .
  • Systematic and organized way of working .
  • You effectively identify and set priorities for the tasks at hand.
  • You feel comfortable working with written and spoken English
  • Willingness to travel 25% of the time at a minimum

Responsibilities

  • Apply your knowledge and contribute to product design for manufacturing, assembly process, and tooling.
  • Deal with equipment suppliers to find and develop optimized solutions for current and future products.
  • Develop and deploy assembly and material handling processes from early design phase to factory implementation in cooperation with external partners and internal teams to increase Manufacturability to Oura products.
  • Develop gluing process performance from a quality and throughput point of view.
  • Plan your activities in the interface of Oura R&D Programs and factories .
  • Ensure manufacturing readiness, timely execution of prototype builds, and successful factory ramp ups.
  • Assess manufacturing/assembly methods from a quality point of view to ensure end customer satisfaction.
  • Support and monitor Oura manufacturing at multiple contract manufacturer sites; facilitate problem solving and remove obstacles and bottlenecks.
  • Influence operational strategies, internally and externally, to support the broader business objectives
  • Exhibit leadership by mentoring other team members towards excellence
