About The Position

The Senior Manufacturing Engineer focuses on establishing and optimizing process parameters that drive performance, quality, and efficiency across the site's manufacturing operations. This role plays a key part in improving process methods, increasing throughput, and minimizing risks related to quality and delivery. Reporting directly to the Engineering Manager, the Senior Manufacturing Engineer works closely with Maintenance, Tooling, Production Supervision, and multiple cross‑functional teams. The role supports key business objectives in Safety, Quality, Delivery, and Cost through the development of robust processes and the integration of advanced manufacturing technologies. Support Injection Molding and Assembly operations, ensuring processes are stable, efficient, and capable. Identify, measure, and document critical quality characteristics within Control Plans. Champion plant safety initiatives, supporting MESH requirements, conducting safety audits, and promoting a culture of continuous safety improvement. Establish best practices for mold tooling repair and preventative maintenance. Sample and develop processes for new molds using scientific molding methodology. Review and update tier procedures for accuracy, relevance, and compliance. Ensure preventive and repair maintenance activities are completed on time. Develop, document, and train Mold Processors and Set‑Up Technicians, including method development, skill certification, and adherence to Standard Work across all shifts. Lead manufacturing process improvement and continuous improvement projects to drive productivity, cost reduction, and quality enhancement. Develop and justify capital project plans and budgets, managing cost estimates through project lifecycle. Communicate project status and deliverables clearly to management and stakeholders. Support Production, Engineering, and Manufacturing Services during equipment installation, modification, startup, and troubleshooting. Collaborate with internal teams and external partners, including Quality, Operations, and Suppliers, to meet product and process improvement objectives.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in Engineering from an accredited institution OR a minimum of 3 years of experience with molding operations in a process ownership capacity
  • No relocation benefit is being offered for this position. Only candidates within a 50-mile radius of the specified job location(s) will be considered. Active Duty Military Service member candidates are exempt from the geographical area limitation.
  • Minimum of 5 years of experience in chemical processing or molding operations
  • Certification of Completion from Paulson's Plastics Academy or equivalent
  • Previous experience with SAP
  • Proficient in 2D and 3D modeling software as well as understanding of GD&T principles
  • Knowledge of Lean Manufacturing and Six Sigma (Black Belt)
  • Strong understanding of polymer material behavior and general tooling and mold design fundamentals
  • Six Sigma experiences improving processes
  • Ability to troubleshoot complex test systems involving hardware and software
  • Must be a self-starter with the ability to work alone or in a team environment
  • Must be able to effectively manage multiple priorities with deadlines and bring assignments to successful completion with minimum supervision
  • Flexible working extended hours or weekends in case of emergency or to support business needs as occasionally required
  • Positive interaction and open communications with other factory disciplines are a necessity
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills
