About The Position

This position performs measurement system development and provides metrology of various molded components, extruded tubes, etc., for development/validation activities. The ideal candidate must be able to work in a team-oriented, fast-paced environment. Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree or above in Engineering or other related field or equivalent job-related experience
  • 5 years of inspection experience, specifically using coordinate measuring equipment.
  • The incumbent must demonstrate the ability to perform the job's essential functions as outlined in the duties and responsibilities.

Nice To Haves

  • Experience with Minitab and Solidworks preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Provide technical direction to Metrology Department personnel in inspection, production support, and process validation activities.
  • Support engineering teams through sample measurements, MSD/MSA, drawing reviews & validation planning.
  • Develop and update standard operating procedures for the metrology department.
  • Identify and implement continuous improvement activities.
  • Collaborate with engineering for the design and manufacture of fixturing.
  • Help in establishing and updating a cost model for metrology.
  • Understanding Geometric Dimensioning and Tolerancing with the ability to train other team members as necessary.
  • Measurement system development and analysis (MSD, MSA, Gage R&R, etc.)
  • Operate and write routines for automated optical measurement equipment.
  • Operate and write routines for coordinate measurement machines (CMM).
  • Operate mechanical measurement tools (micrometers, calipers, gauge pins, etc.).
  • Stay abreast of developments in measurement technology and recommend equipment to expand capacity and capability.
  • Organize activities in the measurement lab to meet production and project schedules.
  • Proficiency in personal computer software (Microsoft Office).
  • Ability to work and provide direction to team members.
  • Effective communication skills (written/verbal).
  • Ability to integrate written and verbal instructions.
  • Detail-oriented with excellent organizational skills.
