About The Position

Advanced Atomization Technologies (AA TECH) is a joint venture between Parker Aerospace and GE Aviation, created to produce and support advanced fuel nozzles and related products for current and future commercial engine platforms, including aerospace and aero-derivative engines. The highly skilled and experienced team of AA TECH employees is expert in design, assembly, testing, and aftermarket support, providing our customers with a world-class product and support experience. The Metrology Engineer uses a variety of contact and non-contact measurement gages and equipment to calibrate gages traceable to NIST and to measure production hardware for compliance. Additionally, the Metrology Engineer will be involved in Engineering studies for process improvements, investigations and proves validations. This activity is accomplished via the use of conventional Coordinate Measuring Machines (CMM), multi sensor CMM, Vision Systems, Trace and Form Machines as well as various handheld gages such as micrometers, test indicators, go/ no-go gages, etc. as well as Six Sigma Tools to achieve desired results. The Metrology Technician will be responsible for some and/or a combination of the key responsibilities below.

Requirements

  • Bachelor of Science Degree & 10 plus years of experience or MS & 5 years of experience
  • Six Sigma Green Belt or Higher
  • Completion of Basic & Advanced Quality Training
  • Strong MS Office competency (Outlook, Word, Excel, PowerPoint)
  • Self-Starter who is motivated by external and internal customer satisfaction and favorable metrics
  • Ability to read and comprehend engineering drawings
  • Strong working knowledge of GD&T
  • Strong working knowledge of Statistical & Process Improvement Tools (i.e., Minitab, Excel, etc.)

Responsibilities

  • Perform calibrations on functional gages
  • Measure 1st articles (as needed)
  • Responsible for completion of cadenced Re-qualification of probes on CMM
  • Measure parts on equipment using existing programs & fixtures
  • Create/ Modify various programs on Metrology lab measuring equipment
  • Perform data driven improvement projects
  • Performs Product audit measurement and reporting
  • Create /Approve new or revised gage and fixture designs
  • Perform Product Impact dispositions and corrective action
  • Responsible for Lab Metrics including corrective action if metrics are unfavorable
  • Work with engineering on various projects (including gage sourcing, implementation and support on production floor)
  • Conduct Gage R&R and Capability Studies and compile data in Minitab or Excel
  • Report/ Communicate results to internal and external customers and recommend next steps
  • Responsible for Receiving Inspection workflow and escalate findings
  • Create/ Revise/ Approve Lab process procedures
  • Responsible for maintaining compliance to all Statutory and Regulatory requirements.
  • Host internal and external audits of Metrology Lab process(s)
