The Senior Medical Director II, Community Health and Health Equity, is responsible, in partnership with an operational dyad partner, for the administration of Behavioral Health, Social Services, Health Equity, and Community Supports. The role is responsible for providing clinical leadership and support for the Safety Net Initiatives strategic project portfolio, including Behavioral Health, Social Services, Health Equity, and Community Supports. Community Supports is part of a broader set of programs that includes housing transition navigation services, housing tenancy and sustaining services, medically tailored meals, recuperative meals, housing deposits, sobering centers, personal care services, and respite services amongst others. This position participates in all areas of quality assessment and improvement, including quality improvement programs, grievance and appeals, credentialing, and quality incentive programs. Serves as the key liaison with L.A. County Departments of Mental Health and of Public Health. As needed, this position will participate in federal, state, and as well as foundation-funded projects focused on the improvement of population-wide behavioral health and social determinants of health. In the Health Equity portion, provides enterprise-wide strategic leadership and partners with executives to help lead the organization’s commitment to be a diverse, equitable, and inclusive (DEI) organization. The position is responsible for working with the Chief Health Equity Officer to set and implement an overarching vision of DEI for the organization, both at the programmatic and administrative levels. Works to eliminate systemic organizational marginalization and promotes inclusion and anti-racist practices. There is a particular emphasis on addressing health disparities of our member population. Collaborates with cross-functional teams to accomplish these efforts. This role collaborates with external stakeholders, including private and public partnerships. The position is responsible for the promotion of internal and external DEI for L.A. Care's members, providers, employees and the Los Angeles community. This position is responsible for directing all aspects of running an efficient team, including hiring, supervising, coaching, training, disciplining, and motivating direct reports.
