Then we have an opportunity for you! We are searching for a Senior Mechanical Engineer to join our team located at our facility in Louisville, KY. Responsibilities Your Role: As a Senior Mechanical Engineer , you will be a key contributor to the implementation of both strategic and tactical projects related to safety and overall equipment effectiveness at our Louisville plant. The position reports directly to the Mechanical Engineering Group Leader. You will have the opportunity to Make Great Things Happen! Drive and promote a strong safety culture across the site, including contractors, suppliers, and visitors. Mechanically scope, design, engineer, or modify equipment to improve safety, quality, cost, or delivery. Support plant performance by prioritizing and providing engineering support to maintenance and operations as needed. Conduct root cause analysis (RCA) and drive corrective actions to reduce downtime, minimize scrap, and improve yield. Assist in the development of technical documents to support maintenance and operations. Prepare capital acquisition requests, scopes of work, RFQs, functional specifications, cost estimates, and project justifications. Collaborate with outside vendors and suppliers to ensure that new equipment upgrades meet necessary performance, design, and safety specifications. Provide technical data and drawings to ensure projects progress efficiently. Lead or participate in maintainability and design reviews with key stakeholders and end users. Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering or a related field.
  • 7+ years of plant engineering experience in a manufacturing environment.
  • Solid project management skills, capable of overseeing multiple projects from inception to execution.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills.
  • Proficiency in engineering software; AutoCAD and SolidWorks preferred.
  • Strong knowledge of engineering concepts, process equipment, fluid power systems, and best practices.
  • Knowledge and application of industry-relevant NFPA, ASME, ANSI, and other applicable codes.

Nice To Haves

  • Experience in the cold rolling, annealing, casting, melting, and general processes of flat rolled metal products preferred.
  • Experience with Lean Manufacturing or Six Sigma methodologies preferred.
  • Advanced degree a plus
