About The Position

As a Senior Manufacturing Technician at Collins Aerospace, you will play a pivotal role in ensuring the highest standards of manufacturing excellence and operational efficiency. You will collaborate closely with assembly and engineering teams to implement process improvements, maintain regulatory compliance, and uphold our commitment to quality and safety.

Requirements

  • Typically requires HS Diploma or AA/AS degree (or other 2-year post high school training) with a minimum of 4 years of relevant experience
  • Must be authorized to work in the U.S. without sponsorship now or in the future. RTX will not offer sponsorship for this position.

Nice To Haves

  • Experience in general assembly techniques, sonic welding, bonding, riveting, and/or seat assembly.
  • Proficiency in GD&T and blueprint reading.
  • Prior experience in an assembly environment – aerospace or similar industry preferred.
  • Previous experience in Quality Inspection.
  • Experience in a Team Lead or supervisory role.
  • Familiarity with job shop environments.

Responsibilities

  • Training and Certification: Ensure hourly associates receive comprehensive training and maintain certifications in compliance with regulations, procedures, and processes.
  • Audit Participation: Assist and participate in audits to uphold quality standards and regulatory requirements.
  • Process Improvement: Contribute to the development and maintenance of procedures to support product and process improvement initiatives.
  • Manufacturing Innovation: Research and develop new manufacturing techniques and tooling to enhance throughput, reduce scrap/rework, and improve product quality.
  • Process Design: Collaborate with Manufacturing Engineering and Quality teams to optimize manufacturing processes.
  • Quality Assurance: Ensure all work adheres to approved data, manufacturing standards, and customer specifications, maintaining meticulous documentation.
  • Customer Collaboration: Work closely with hourly associates and support functions to meet customer requirements effectively.
  • Continuous Improvement: Drive and participate in 5S initiatives, training programs, and continuous improvement activities within the manufacturing area.
  • Problem Solving: Utilize root cause analysis and problem-solving tools (e.g., 5 whys, RCCA, fishbone diagram) to resolve manufacturing issues effectively.
  • Additional Duties: Perform other related duties as assigned to support operational goals and objectives.
