About The Position

Subcontracts Manager with strong knowledge of supply chain, procurement, and leadership skills with broad knowledge of project management. This role leads teams that develop negotiation strategies, leads negotiations with suppliers on complex government contracts over the TINA threshold. The team leads the execution of the supplier contracts after negotiations conclude and manages the complex procurements through the full product life cycle. There is also responsibility to lead improvement efforts on projects and processes that can be inside or outside of their immediate job area with general oversight. General work scope includes responsibility for managing multiple Government procurements in support of multiple Government Programs, with a key focus on 1-5 highly visible/complex suppliers. Manages large, complex project initiatives of substantial importance to the organization with minimal oversight or direction. Communicates within and outside of the organization to explain and influence changes to practices, processes and approaches. Makes significant improvements in processes, systems, or products. Explains, interprets, communicates and achieves cooperation on policies, procedures and practices with internal and external customers.  Provides guidance and assistance to other employees.  This position requires following established procedures and policies to perform assigned tasks. Requires professional judgment and extensive use and/or application of supply chain/procurement principles, theories, and concepts.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree and a minimum of 9 years of prior subcontracts experience or Graduate degree and a minimum of 7 years of prior subcontracts experience.
  • In lieu of a degree, a minimum of 13 years of prior subcontracts experience

  • Government buying experience and familiarity with FAR/DFAR requirements
