This role partners directly with Professional Services, Product, Engineering, Support, and customer IT teams to ensure solutions are reliable, scalable, secure, and operationally ready for real-world retail deployments. The position emphasizes operational excellence, automation, AI-enabled testing, and disciplined release governance. Requirements

  • Bachelor’s in Computer Science, Engineering, or equivalent experience.
  • 12+ years in software quality engineering, including automation and test strategy ownership.
  • 5+ years leading teams; experience managing managers preferred.
  • Experience supporting customer-facing programs in B2B or retail environments.
  • Strong understanding of Agile SDLC and CI/CD practices.
  • Proven ability to align quality plans with business workflows and operational needs.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills with executive‑ready reporting capability.

Nice To Haves

  • Retail domain experience (POS, payments, promotions, store systems, integrations).
  • Experience applying AI tools for testing and quality optimization.
  • Hands-on programming/scripting in Python, JavaScript, Java, or C#.
  • Experience in high‑availability or production‑critical environments.

Responsibilities

  • Align with customer IT and program stakeholders on quality expectations, rollout criteria, and operational readiness.
  • Translate retail workflows (POS, promotions, payments, loyalty, back office, device integration) into test strategies.
  • Lead quality reviews covering defect trends, risk assessment, readiness criteria, and go/no-go recommendations.
  • Ensure traceability and release documentation support production deployments.
  • Implement risk-based testing across functional, integration, regression, performance, and operational validation.
  • Scale automation across UI, API, and integration layers using CI/CD quality gates.
  • Validate performance and reliability for peak retail conditions and distributed store environments.
  • Improve test data management, environment stability, and observability.
  • Apply AI tools for test scenario generation, regression optimization, defect clustering, and risk prioritization.
  • Ensure AI usage improves efficiency and coverage while maintaining governance and explainability.
  • Lead and develop QA managers and engineers across multiple customer initiatives.
  • Embed with program teams to unblock risks and model best practices.
  • Establish and track quality metrics (defect leakage, coverage, cycle time, escaped defects, customer incidents).
  • Promote accountability, clarity, and measurable execution.
  • Maintain quality plans aligned to program schedules and rollout waves.
  • Create and review test strategies, traceability matrices, risk reports, and release readiness assessments.
  • Enforce structured defect triage and prioritize based on business impact.
  • Partner with Security and Engineering to integrate cybersecurity and operational controls.
  • Own quality tooling across requirements management, CI/CD, test management, and reporting.
