Sr. Manager, Software Development Engineering wanted by American Express Global Business Travel, Egencia LLC in Chicago, IL. Lead and manage a team of software engineers to build and evolve Egencia’s horizontal search experience. Define technical vision and strategy, ensuring scalability, reliability, and performance. Collaborate with stakeholders including users, product teams, and senior leadership to gather requirements and define software features. Drive best practices in software development across the full SDLC: coding standards, code reviews, CI/CD, testing, deployment, and operations. Architect and oversee the development of multi-tier web services and distributed systems. Foster a high-performance engineering culture through mentoring, coaching, and skill development. Lead recruiting and hiring efforts to build a diverse and inclusive engineering team. Must have a Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Systems or related field. Must have: five (5) years of experience with object-oriented programming five (5) years of experience with Microservices five (5) years of experience with Restful web services five (5) years of experience with Java five (5) years of experience with AWS Technologies (S3, DynamoDB and Kinesis) three (3) years of experience with leading and managing a team of software engineers, which includes recruiting and hiring efforts to build a diverse and inclusive engineering team two (2) years of experience with React and SDUI one (1) year of experience with OpenSearch. May work from home within commuting distance to office.
