About The Position

The Reinsurance Officer coordinates with the various departments involved in the reinsurance process, including Underwriting, Finance, Actuarial, Claims and others as appropriate to review reinsurance requirements and analyze structure options. Your contribution at AIG As a Leader, you are respected for your deep technical expertise and/or ability to oversee programs and processes. You balance the needs of multiple stakeholders, making sound decisions using data, analysis, experience, and judgment, along with a risk mindset. Ultimately, you take ownership for key outcomes. Collate the data required to prepare the submission package, which is provided to the broker for submission creation, by liaising with the Underwriting, Finance, Actuarial and Claims departments Work with the Legal Department to draft and review the reinsurance contract wording in accordance with AIG’s corporate standards. Coordinate the availability of documents and reports for claims, underwriting and transactional audits, as well as any other audits performed by external auditors. Evaluate and consider treaty reinsurance quotes and indications and negotiate the transaction to support AIG’s business requirements. Coordinate and track execution of contract wordings to full completion by AIG’s contract certainty standards, and maintain electronic filing archive. Summarize Treaty Terms and Schematics and distribute internally as needed post-placement Develop, manage and maintain relationships with reinsurance brokers and reinsurance markets to facilitate placements, execution of contract wording, timely claims payments and gain market intelligence. Support compliance by maintaining appropriate documentation Understanding Profit Centre business strategy and reinsurance objectives Ensure compliance with corporate and regional security policy Managing the special exception process when appropriate. Coordinate and manage all external reinsurance underwriting audits as well as Manage and/or conduct field audits for compliance What we are looking for

Requirements

  • At least 5 years of Reinsurance related experience
  • ARe and/or CPCU preferred
  • Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience
  • Excellent communication skills (both written and verbal)
  • Strong presentation development and executive communication skills
  • Advanced PowerPoint capabilities with a strong ability to synthesize complex data into concise, impactful presentations
  • Proven ability to create and deliver high-quality presentations for senior leadership and C-suite audiences
  • Strong negotiation skills
  • Strong attention to detail and quantitative skills
  • Ability to meet deadlines and prioritize tasks
  • Strong interpersonal skills and ability to work with various internal stakeholders, including underwriting, claims, actuarial, finance and IT departments
  • Ability to travel as required (10%)
  • Strong Microsoft Office skills, including Word and Excel
