Position: Senior Manager, Quality Engineering Job Location: 3161 Skyway Court, Fremont, CA 94539 Duties: Ensures delivery success by developing resource planning for business roadmap; planning the execution pipeline to manage delivery risks; delegating and sharing responsibility; advising teams to ensure quality execution; making teams accountable for delivery; providing clear goals and objectives to Software Quality Assurance Managers and direct reports to ensure cross team alignment; identifying processes for managing work assigned to geographically dispersed teams; reviewing project progress, timelines, and managing risk; and communicating progress or escalating issues to leadership and management via structured test status reports that illustrate QA progress against a defined test plan. Manages the testing of a functional domain of the technology platform and builds solutions with directors and above to align with business strategy by overseeing line managers and architects who support the functional execution; working with cross-functional teams of the organization (for example, Product, Engineering, Project Management, peers, and senior management) to ensure the execution of goals; and measuring group performance and product quality. Ensures efficient delivery of quality products by partnering with cross-functional teams; building strong partnerships with peers within and across the organization; focusing on customer service; influencing other teams and managers; and understanding customer needs to align team delivery to customer expectations. Articulates test strategy and approach, coordinates review and signoff with stakeholders. Defines test environment and automation solutions for product testing by understanding and aligning divisional and company goals; building tooling frameworks and test harnesses to demonstrate needed functional, scaling, and reliability attributes of the system. This position supervises eleven (11) employees (2 Staff Quality Engineer(s) II, 3 Senior Quality Engineer(s), 2 Quality Engineer(s) II, 1 Senior Data Engineer, and 3 Quality Engineer(s) III). Minimum education and experience required: Bachelor's degree or the equivalent in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Computer Information Systems, Software Engineering, Electronic Engineering, or related area and 5 years of post-bachelor’s progressively responsible experience in software quality assurance, manual/automated testing, or related area; OR Master's degree or the equivalent in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Computer Information Systems, Software Engineering, Electronic Engineering, or related area and 3 years of post-bachelor’s progressively responsible experience in software quality assurance, manual/automated testing, or related area. Skills required: Experience with testing on big data platforms: Snowflake and Databricks. Experience with ETL development and validations and building automated tools on systems using client-server architecture. Experience with big data/system testing and automation tools development using Python/Spark on cloud computing platforms, including AWS, and data modeling and pipeline orchestration on fault-tolerant Machine Learning (ML) infrastructure in Databricks. Experience with load testing using Locust and testing services using virtualization/containerization tools: Docker and Kubernetes. Experience building automation tools using Python, Selenium, Cypress, BDD frameworks, and Scala. Experience with validation and unit testing of ETLs in Pyspark, Python, Jupyter, and SQL. Experience testing and troubleshooting hardware/software embedded systems based on Linux kernel based architecture. Experience working with batch/streaming data and data orchestration tools: Kafka and Apache Airflow. Experience with big data validation, big data analytics, data pipeline monitoring, error alerting, and data recovery using Pyspark, Periscope, SQL, and Tableau. Experience with testing services using MySQL, Postgres, Redis, Redshift, and PgVector. Experience with Spark, SQL, Python, Scala, Go, Java, Pandas, and ETL testing. Experience building big data automation tools and observability monitors using Great Expectations and Monte Carlo. Employer will accept any amount of experience with the required skills. Salary Range: $274,456/year to $274,456/year. Additional compensation includes annual or quarterly performance incentives.
