About The Position

With the widespread impact of AI technologies, the growth and diversification of our products, and the proliferation of new and at times fragmented laws and reporting requirements, are one of the most exciting and testing moments as a company. The newly formed Risk, Compliance and Integrity organization (RCI) brings together critical compliance, assurance, risk and governance functions across Google to help the company meet compliance needs and enable our businesses to innovate. Our goal is to make compliance an engaged advantage for Google by driving scaled, data-driven, and policy-based compliance programs. We manage our operations through risk-based prioritization and governance and consistent and constructive regulator engagement. We are seeking an experienced privacy and security compliance senior manager to lead and elevate our compliance program. In this role, you will understand compliance frameworks, risk assessment, and internal controls, coupled with the ability to collaborate effectively across the organization and influence at all levels with respect to privacy and security areas of law. You will be a tactical thinker with exceptional communication skills and a proven track record of building and managing compliance programs. In addition to a compliance foundation, you will be required to have exceptional program management capabilities. You will have a demonstrated ability to track, report on, and effectively manage compliance initiatives from inception to completion. This includes defining clear objectives, establishing metrics, monitoring progress, and ensuring timely and accurate reporting to stakeholders.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent practical experience.
  • 14 years of experience in compliance, risk management, investigation, auditing, legal, or consulting.
  • 10 years of experience in a people management, supervision, or team leadership role.
  • Experience drafting compliance related documentation, controls, and policies.
  • Experience working with cross-functional teams.

  • Advanced degree in law, business, compliance, or a related field or equivalent practical experience.
  • Knowledge of compliance program management principles, risk assessment methodologies, and internal control frameworks.

Responsibilities

  • Advise, architect and implement a compliance and risk management program tailored to the organization's specific needs and regulatory environment.
  • Develop a set of clear, quantifiable metrics and key performance indicators (KPIs) to objectively measure and track the program's effectiveness and identify areas for improvement.
  • Prepare and deliver regular reports to executive management.
  • Lead and coordinate cross-functional program teams, ensuring alignment on program goals, timelines, and successful delivery.
  • Advocate for programs effectively, communicate program status and impact to executive stakeholders, and ensure alignment on objectives.
  • Enhance awareness of compliance requirements and best practices, translating insights into actionable recommendations and initiatives.
  • Conduct in-depth risk assessments, proactively identify potential compliance gaps, and develop and implement mitigation plans.
