About The Position

The Plant Operations Senior Manager will support the Plant Director in all aspects of Plant Operations including Safety, Quality, Culture, Cost, and Delivery. This position will oversee the sanitation department and be fully responsible for the overall cleanliness of the facility (including microbiological performance). The Plant Operations Senior Manager will plan, direct, train, and execute on the Major Clean Up (MCU) activities and ensure the facility is at standards and on time to begin production after MCU. This role will have direct involvement in raw product utilization and will work closely with the raw department to select raw product per the plant schedule that they help develop. The Plant Operations Senior Manager will manage bulk inventories as well as repack plans to ensure the facilities’ inventory remains controllable. A successful candidate for this position will have a strong, measurable background in continuous improvement and will use that knowledge to help drive process improvements and training. This position is the right hand of the Plant Director and will cover all facility activities in their absence.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree (BA or BS) from 4-year college or university
  • 10+ years related experience and/or training

Responsibilities

  • Responsible for assisting all safety initiatives including participation in C.A.R.E. program.
  • Responsible for driving operational excellence in food safety and product quality.
  • Speak to customer complaints and drive new procedures to support minimizing repeat complaints.
  • Drive plant culture by listening to employees and helping find solutions to everyday operational issues.
  • Support the training and coaching of employees.
  • Responsible for raw product selection.
  • Work closely with the raw department to ensure plant success throughout the year managing raw storages.
  • Directly lead all sanitation activities, with the Sanitation Supervisor reporting to this position.
  • Responsible for following the plant schedule to ensure all customer orders are filled in a timely manner.
  • Responsible for all major clean-up activities including the planning, executing, and starting the facility back up after the cleanup on time.
  • Responsible for repacking activities and overall packaging performance.
  • Always on call, provides weekend support, and off hours as needed.
