TerraPower is seeking to hire highly motivated and forward-thinking professionals who are interested in focusing on advanced nuclear reactor research and development and influencing change within the nuclear power landscape and bringing forward the critical production of medical isotopes. The Senior Manager of Organizational Effectiveness is a full-time exempt position reporting to the Vice President of Operations and is responsible for implementing the Performance Improvement (PI) and Training programs, which include the Correction Action Program (CAP), Self-Assessments, Benchmarking, Operating Experience (OE), Lessons Learned, Performance Gap Analysis and Trending, Root Cause Analysis, Technical, Unaccredited Training Programs, Instructional Design, and any other duties as assigned by the VP of Operations. Continuously improve performance improvement and training program execution to increase efficiency and results of the program and ensure effective identification, screening, analysis, resolution, implementation and measurement of performance issues. This position requires an expert level of knowledge of ASME NQA-1 requirements for the corrective action program, trending, and training, and past Nuclear Regulatory Commission (NRC) interface experience.

Requirements

  • BS in applicable field (e.g. math, science, engineering, technology)
  • 15+ years' experience in the nuclear industry, including performance improvement, corrective action program, engineering, design, construction or training work environment strongly preferred.
  • Strong customer service and training skills and a desire to achieve results.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite including Word, Excel, Outlook, and PowerBI.
  • Experience working with Confluence, JIRA, INPO IRIS, SAP SuccessFactors, Learning Management Systems, and DevonWay.
  • Strong attention to detail.
  • Exceptional oral and written technical communication skills.
  • Exceptional organizational and time management skills.
  • Ability to work independently and in a team environment.
  • Skilled in setting priorities.
  • Excellent analytical, interpretive, and problem-solving skills.

Nice To Haves

  • Secondary degree such as an MBA (e.g. finance, economics, leadership, organizational behavior) strongly preferred.
  • Former Senior Reactor Operator (SRO) license preferred.
  • Root Cause analysis or cause analysis experience preferred.
  • Experience working with government organizations such as Department of Energy (DOE) and/or the Nuclear Regulatory Commission (NRC), as well as industry groups like the Institute of Nuclear Power Operations (INPO) is strongly preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Spearhead the development, maintenance, and implementation of Performance Improvement, Continuous Improvement, and Training standard operating documents (SODs), driving alignment with organizational goals and ensuring compliance across all levels of the organization, with a focus on innovative and scalable solutions.
  • Provide expert analysis and interpretation of data and performance metrics, offering comprehensive reports and strategic, high-impact recommendations that influence organizational direction and policy.
  • Lead advanced, cross-functional teams and analysis of performance data, identifying complex systemic issues and trends, and utilizing CAP and training data, self-assessments, benchmarking, operating experiences, and performance indicators to inform organization-wide improvements.
  • Provide governance oversight for technical training programs aligned with Systematic Approach to Training (SAT) principles, ensuring workforce capability supports design, construction, licensing, and future operational readiness.
  • Establish and monitor training effectiveness metrics, partnering with executive leadership to evaluate workforce capability, qualification readiness, and measurable impact of learning initiatives on organizational performance outcomes.
  • Provide oversight of technical training programs to ensure compliance with ASME NQA-1 requirements, regulatory expectations, and internal quality assurance standards, supporting inspection readiness and audit defensibility.
  • Drive enterprise learning strategies that reinforce nuclear safety culture, leadership accountability, and human performance excellence, ensuring training initiatives shape behaviors aligned with TerraPower’s mission and future operating model.
  • Assume leadership responsibility for CAP investigations and condition report screenings, orchestrating complex root-cause analyses and delivering actionable insights to address strategic issues and optimize organizational performance.
  • Mentor and coach senior leaders and cross-functional teams, promoting a culture of innovation and continuous improvement, driving excellence in performance improvement across the organization.
  • Lead the development and optimization of performance indicators, ensuring that they are forward-thinking, adaptable, and integrated into the organization’s long-term strategic goals and decision-making processes.
  • Direct and influence the preparation and facilitation of high-level executive meetings, advising senior leadership on key strategic decisions and driving alignment with organizational priorities.
  • Deliver executive-level, high-impact status reports, synthesizing complex data into forward-looking strategic insights and providing expert recommendations to drive organizational success.
  • Provide expert guidance and oversight to teams conducting in-depth cause analysis, ensuring that complex issues are addressed with precision and that the outcomes are aligned with organizational goals and initiatives.
  • Lead and drive the development and continuous improvement of Performance Improvement and Training software and related tools, collaborating with cross-functional experts to innovate and address evolving user needs and organizational challenges.
  • Other duties as assigned by the VP of Operations.
