About The Position

Anteris is a science-driven structural heart company that is redefining expectations and advancing the field through cutting-edge solutions focused on restoring native-like physiology versus treating symptoms of structural heart disease. We are currently developing a new class of TAVR designed to mimic the performance of a healthy aortic valve. With offices in Minneapolis, MN, US; Geneva, Switzerland; and Brisbane and Perth, Australia, we have a growing and inclusive team. The Facilities & Environmental Health & Safety (EHS) Senior Manager or Director (depending on experience) leads the strategy and execution of facilities operations, infrastructure planning, environmental health and safety programs, and capital projects across the organization. This role ensures that Anteris’ facilities, building systems, and overall physical environment effectively support the operational, regulatory, and growth needs of a rapidly scaling, FDA-regulated medical device company. This leader is responsible for building and advancing a proactive, compliant, and scalable facilities and safety function that enables manufacturing, engineering, and corporate teams to operate efficiently and safely. The scope includes oversight of facilities maintenance, building systems, EHS programs, construction and expansion projects, and vendor management. Partnering closely with Operations, Quality, Engineering, and external contractors, this individual will lead a small but critical team while ensuring facility readiness, regulatory compliance, and long-term scalability as the organization continues to grow. Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Facilities Management, Environmental Health & Safety, or related technical field.
  • 10+ years of experience in facilities management, engineering, EHS, or infrastructure leadership.
  • Experience working in regulated environments such as medical device, pharmaceutical, or biotech.
  • Experience managing facility infrastructure, building systems, and capital or construction projects.
  • Strong knowledge of OSHA and workplace safety standards.
  • Experience managing external contractors, vendors, and capital budgets.

Nice To Haves

  • Experience supporting FDA-regulated manufacturing or ISO-regulated environments (e.g., ISO 13485).
  • Knowledge of cleanroom, controlled manufacturing, or laboratory environments.
  • Professional certifications such as CSP, CIH, CHFM, or LEED.

Responsibilities

  • Facilities Strategy & Infrastructure
  • Develop and execute a facilities strategy aligned with company growth, operational scaling, and long-term site planning.
  • Ensure infrastructure supports regulated manufacturing, laboratory, and office environments.
  • Oversee building systems including HVAC, utilities, clean environments, electrical systems, security, and critical infrastructure.
  • Maintain facility readiness for audits, inspections, and regulatory expectations.
  • Identify infrastructure improvements and capacity planning needs to support production and engineering growth.
  • Partner with Operations and Quality to reinforce a strong safety culture.
  • Collaborate with leadership to plan future facility expansion and site strategy.
  • Environmental Health & Safety (EHS)
  • Lead and oversee Environmental Health & Safety programs to ensure a safe, compliant workplace.
  • Ensure compliance with OSHA, EPA, and applicable safety and environmental regulations.
  • Develop and maintain safety policies, procedures, training programs, and incident management processes.
  • Drive continuous improvement in safety performance, including incident prevention and corrective actions.
  • Capital Projects & Construction Management
  • Lead planning and execution of facility expansions, relocations, renovations, and capital improvement projects.
  • Manage contractors, vendors, budgets, and project timelines.
  • Ensure facility modifications align with quality system requirements and regulatory standards.
  • Facilities Operations & Maintenance
  • Oversee preventive maintenance programs and ensure operational reliability of building systems.
  • Ensure timely and effective response to facility issues while minimizing disruption.
  • Manage vendor relationships including maintenance providers, utilities, security, and building services.
  • Implement systems and processes to improve efficiency, cost control, and facility performance.
  • Team Leadership
  • Lead, develop, and support a small Facilities and EHS team, including an EHS Specialist and Facilities/Projects Engineer.
  • Establish clear priorities, accountability, and development opportunities.
  • Build scalable processes and capabilities to support organizational growth.
  • Cross-Functional Partnership
  • Partner with Operations, Quality, HR, and Engineering to align facilities infrastructure with production and development needs.
  • Collaborate with Quality leadership to ensure compliance with regulatory and quality system requirements.
  • Support audit readiness for regulatory agencies, customers, and certification bodies.
  • Proactively gather stakeholder needs and translate them into facility and infrastructure plans.
