About The Position

Sr. Manager for Engineering Services Amentum is seeking a Sr. Manager for Engineering Services to work in support of our Aiken, SC office. Purpose and Scope: The Sr. Manager for Engineering Services is responsible for management and growth of the Engineering Services Functional Area and will oversee a diverse team to meet customer and project requirements. This position is responsible for discipline areas pertaining to Engineering including Systems Engineering, Design Engineering, and Design Authority Engineering, among others.

Requirements

  • Bachelor of Science degree (or equivalent education) in an appropriate engineering, safety, or scientific discipline or the sciences from a four-year accredited college or university.
  • Experience: 15+ years of professional experience, with 5+ years of managerial experience.
  • Good oral and written communication skills; working knowledge of word-processing and integrated software applications; organizational skills and ability to perform detail-oriented work are required.
  • Position requires the ability to pass and maintain a Security Clearance.
  • Position may require travel.

Responsibilities

  • Oversee the growth and development of the Functional Area and the team
  • Grow work scope and capture of new opportunites
  • Works with account managers to ensure delivery of essential services
  • Ensure work is performed on time and on quality
  • Maintains records, files and other documents pertaining to the functional area
  • Assigns team members to work scope
  • Directs the preparation and submits periodic reports and forecasts on the status of projects
  • Advises account managers regarding status of assignment(s) with respect to schedule, budgets, delays and adverse problems
  • Develops process necessary to support consistent and quality work performance and the training of new personnel
  • Works closely with Director of Consulting on employees' evaluations and promotions and the overall technical improvement of the group
  • Fully versed in interpreting codes and standards as it relates to a specific discipline.
  • Familiar with business development concepts and provides support to proposals.
  • Able to lead the development of manpower, man-hour, and labor cost requirements for a project and can monitor the effect of these on the budget
  • Performs all other position related duties as assigned or requested.
