Summary Partners with the Broker Dealer National Accounts team with a primary focus on driving strategic relationships and supporting our non-product offers with Vanguard’s most important broker‑dealer clients. This role is responsible for shaping how the organization supports, enables, and grows priority intermediary relationships by aligning sales and firm level strategy with client objectives and enterprise goals. The Senior Manager, National Accounts Strategic Partnerships operates as a strategic leader and player‑coach, balancing team leadership with hands‑on engagement in complex initiatives. The role offers optionality for client-facing engagement, allowing the leader to serve as a senior partner to key broker‑dealer relationships when strategic impact is greatest, while primarily enabling scale through the team. What it Takes Strategic Deal & Partnership Development-Leads and oversees partnership work with priority broker‑dealer clients. Partners with the team to develop and structure strategic partnership proposals, assess commercial, operational, and strategic impact to Vanguard, and evaluate trade‑offs and risks. Synthesizes analysis into clear, compelling recommendations and presents partnership proposals to broker‑dealer clients, serving as a senior, credible representative of the firm. Leadership & Player‑Coach Model-Hires, develops, and leads a high‑performing team. Acts as a player‑coach, providing strategic direction, coaching, and mentorship while also engaging directly in complex problem solving, priority initiatives, and critical decision points. Creative Strategy & Problem Solving-Applies strong strategic, creative, and analytical thinking to address complex business challenges. Designs innovative solutions across sales support, analytics, workflows, and enablement to meet evolving client and market demands. Cross‑Functional Influence-Influences and partners with cross‑functional teams to deliver integrated solutions and achieve desired business outcomes. Help align stakeholders around shared priorities. Client‑Facing Engagement-Engages directly with select broker‑dealer clients as needed, participating in strategic discussions, issue resolution, and planning sessions. Serves as a trusted internal and external partner, with flexibility to step in personally or lead through the team depending on business needs. Change Leadership & Continuous Improvement-Leads the identification and implementation of changes to policies, workflows, and tools to respond to changing business and client needs. Shares best practices across the team/division to drive continuous improvement and quality enhancement. Special Projects-Participates in enterprise and divisional initiatives as needed, contributing strategic insight and leadership beyond day‑to‑day responsibilities.

Requirements

  • Exceptional people, leader and developer of talent with a proven track record of collaborating and bringing the best out of their direct reports and partners
  • Ten years of related professional experience, with demonstrated success in strategic sales support, client enablement, partnership roles, or strategy functions
  • Demonstrated ability to lead through complexity, ambiguity, and change
  • Strong strategic thinking, creativity, and problem‑solving capabilities
