About The Position

This is a high-visibility leadership role reporting directly to the Senior Director of Revenue . Unlike a traditional billing role, this is an operational leadership position responsible for managing multiple teams and driving performance metrics within the firm's billing function. You will have direct exposure to senior and executive-level leadership while overseeing the daily operations of multiple Client Account teams. This position offers a hybrid work schedule and can be based in any of the firm’s US office locations.

Requirements

  • You have a minimum of 8 years of experience in a complex billing function within an AM Law 200 firm.
  • You have at least 2+ years of experience in second-tier management (managing other managers).
  • You have required experience with Aderant and e-Billing applications
  • You possess advanced Excel skills and are comfortable charting large data sets to summarize trends and troubleshoot complex problems.
  • You hold a Bachelor’s degree in Business, Finance, Accounting, or a related field

Nice To Haves

  • experience with Business Intelligence software is highly preferred.
  • Master’s preferred

Responsibilities

  • Manage and provide leadership to a team of business professionals, specifically overseeing 3–4 managers who lead their own billing teams.
  • Monitor daily operations to ensure managerial workloads and biller-level assignments are completed timely and meet attorney and client expectations.
  • Continually track and analyze performance metrics for multiple billing teams, making operational adjustments as needed to ensure standards are exceeded.
  • Analyze current business processes and billing book assignments to recommend and implement more effective workflows and balanced workloads.
  • Ensure managerial staff receive the training, mentoring, and coaching necessary to meet the firm’s billing and business objectives.
  • Act as a subject-matter expert for a group of managers, responding to process escalations and collaborating with other departments to develop best practices.
