JOB SUMMARY: The Planner/Manager, Key Account Planning, is responsible for developing a strategic annual retail and net sales plan by channel for their accounts. This role requires a data-driven, analytical mindset to interpret business trends, identify growth opportunities and optimize inventory productivity to reduce liabilities. By proactively identifying strategies to drive revenue and mitigate unproductive stock, the Key Account Planner plays a pivotal role in achieving financial targets. Collaborating closely with cross-functional teams - including Marketing, Sales Operations, Customer Service, and respective Retail Account Buying Teams - the Key Account Planner ensures seamless execution of account strategies. Through precision planning and strategic inventory management, this role directly contributes to maximizing sales performance and delivering on both gross and net sales objectives.

Requirements

  • You have a bachelor's degree in related field
  • You have 5+ years of retail planning experience (Buying Office or extensive Head Quarter experience)
  • You are highly skilled in inventory planning, forecasting gross/net shipments, and bottoms up build required
  • You have advanced expertise in Microsoft Excel, PowerPoint (pivot tables, vlookups, sumif, etc.)
  • You can fully read, analyze and understand retailer OTB's
  • You have demonstrated ability to build gross to net and retail sales plans from the bottom up
  • You have strong knowledge and experience of the prestige cosmetic industry & retail planning systems
  • You can work under pressure and meet fluctuating deadlines with a high number of tasks
  • You should possess strong analytical, organizational and communication skills
  • You have strong attention to detail, high sense of responsibility, dependable and self-starter
  • You must be flexible and adaptive to changing priorities

Responsibilities

  • You will support and partner with Director and ED, Key Account Planning in building bottoms up budgets and on-going forecasting and achievement of retail and net sales plans
  • You will forecast returns and DIFs, managing discontinuations to reduce RTV liabilities, retrieving necessary approvals, and partnering with finance on timing and estimates
  • You will analyze retailer OTB monthly, ensuring no changes or potential issues after each month's lock
  • In partnership with Director, Key Accounts, you will develop CEP & mid-month retail and shipment projections with keen communication to ED, Key Accounts on changes
  • You will build and revise monthly retail HPLN in accordance with monthly CEP projections, collaborating with cross-functional partners to ensure alignment
  • You will ensure orders are received from retail partners in a timely manner and troubleshoot errors
  • You will collaborate with internal partners on creating sales goals by door, week, quarter, and channel during budgeting and re-trending moments
  • You will build retail sales plans for new launches, tracking achievement and sell-thru of established sales objectives, including analysis for Limited Edition and Holiday product lines
  • You will be using COGNOS and retailer reporting, pull weekly sales data and analyze sell-through results to inform weekly commentary
  • You will provide weekly sales recap to key internal stakeholders and leadership, summarizing achievements, promotions, marketing activities
  • You will deliver weekly, by door sales recaps to SEEs
  • You will support monthly consensus process by providing updated retailer sku projections, insights, and relevant reporting
  • You will track ROI and sales lift on retailer secondary exposures and marketing activities to inform co-op spend
  • You will plan and allocate monthly sampling and GWPs to strategically support retail sales
  • You will consistently communicate with field and retail partners regarding inventory concerns and business opportunities
  • You will maintain agendas for weekly recurring touch bases with internal stakeholders and retail partners
  • You will execute ad hoc reporting and analysis requests
