About The Position

The Senior Manager, Finance, Information Technology Operations, will lead all financial aspects of Information Technology Operations and the respective functions. In partnership with operational leaders, the Senior Manager will lead the financial business cases and processes for information security, infrastructure, commercial products, enterprise products and shipboard operations as well as influence strategic decisions. The Senior Manager will also support the operational management teams in the execution of their business objectives and strategic roadmaps through superior financial management and controllership and will work closely with leadership to oversee accurate and timely forecasting, reporting, and analysis of dynamic operations. The position is expected to display considerable initiative, independent judgment, strategic thinking, excellent communication and leadership skills in performing financial activities such as planning and forecasting, analysis, contract negotiations, process reengineering, preliminary cost estimates, determination of capital vs. expense activities and governance.

Requirements

  • BS/BA degree in accounting, finance, business, analytics, or other relevant discipline related to the requirements of this position.
  • 8+ years in advanced business analysis and/or finance roles.
  • Solid understanding of accounting rules for expense, deferred expense, and capital activities.
  • Tech Finance or technology-related experience highly preferred.
  • Solid understanding of Tech estimation activities and tools preferred.
  • Proven leadership and management skills
  • Excellent interpersonal and organization skills.
  • Strong communications, ability to present confidently to senior leadership and cross functions.
  • Able to synthesize results into concise written findings, create presentations, and communicate the strategic implications.
  • Self-motivated and able to work effectively in a fast-paced culture.
  • Strong analytical and critical/strategic thinking skills.
  • Strong understanding of finance principles to lead management on strategic initiatives and guide analysis
  • Strong financial modeling experience, including evaluating data and determining optimal ways to spend to accomplish company goals
  • Ability to lead multiple teams effectively across multiple disciplines and levels of experience
  • Able to work under tight timelines, prioritizing responsibilities as needed.
  • Clear understanding of capital vs non-capital expenditures
  • Accepts accountability and manages execution.
  • Must have ability to adapt to shifting priorities and align activities to meet organizational goals.
  • Experienced in Microsoft Excel, Word, & PowerPoint.

Nice To Haves

  • MBA or advanced degree is a plus, CPA preferred.
  • Experience utilizing project plans, issue logs, and risk/mitigation strategies is preferred.
  • Experience with Apptio and/or labor tracking applications is preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Lead the monitoring of the financial health of technology operations and provide frequent updates and reporting to C-suite level executives. Such operations include large programs and ship/shore operational activities under information security, infrastructure, commercial products, enterprise products and shipboard.
  • Manage the team responsible for the development of financial business cases and strategic roadmaps. This includes building and substantiating business cases, and once approved, tracking financial spend and updating forecasts.
  • Oversees creation and management of Information Technology’s operating budgets for 25+ cost centers across multiple countries and currencies.
  • Advise management on financial initiatives and cost optimization opportunities, aligned with corporate and departmental strategies.
  • Interact frequently with operational leadership to ensure strategic alignment, timely and accurate plans and forecasts.
  • Actively participate in contract negotiations providing insights and valuable tactics to generate savings and efficiencies
  • Ensure all operational aspects comply with Corporate policies and procedures, including proper treatment of expenses, contract approvals, etc.
  • Provide support, guidance and training on the financial impacts of the ship and shore operating activities.
  • Craft effective stories, present findings, and lead discussions that lead to a common understanding with partners and executives.
  • Manage a team of internal / external professionals and be responsible for establishing clear priorities, while managing expectations in a high pace environment.
  • Responsible for overseeing the results, timelines, deliverables, and budget of high-profile operations.
  • Serve as a trusted advisor to the broader finance community within the corporation.
  • Provide ad-hoc analyses to guide decision-making on design of future products.
  • Ensure proper maintenance of internal controls, with emphasis on SOX controls
  • Performs other duties as required.
