As Ford Motor Company accelerates its transformation into a leader in the electric vehicle (EV) revolution, this role plays a pivotal part in shaping the future of propulsion systems. Lead the end-to-end global sourcing and supply chain strategy for critical EV components, including power electronics and eDrive systems such as inverters, onboard chargers, DC/DC converters, electric motors, and integrated drive units. Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Supply Chain, Business, or related field
  • 10+ years of experience in strategic sourcing, procurement, or supply chain within automotive, manufacturing, or related industries
  • 7+ years of experience in supplier negotiations, cost analysis, and commercial execution in technical environments
  • 7+ years of experience working cross-functionally with engineering and suppliers, and influencing global stakeholders to drive sourcing strategy and program execution
  • Strong experience managing sourcing activities in complex, matrixed environments with a focus on cost, quality, delivery, and supply chain risk mitigation
  • Strong analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills, including structured storytelling and data-driven decision-making

  • Advanced degree (MBA or Master’s in Supply Chain, Engineering, or Business)
  • Experience managing complex or technical commodities
  • Experience working with global supply bases across North America, Europe, and Asia
  • Experience with SAP, Tableau, Alteryx, or similar analytics tools

Responsibilities

  • Global Sourcing Strategy & Execution: Lead the end-to-end global sourcing strategy for Power Electronics and eDrive commodities, ensuring alignment with program cost, timing, capacity, and technical requirements. Drive supplier selection, RFIs/RFQs, and contract execution with full commercial accountability.
  • Team Leadership: Lead, mentor, and develop a high-performing global team, fostering a culture of agility, data-driven decision-making, and operational excellence.
  • Advanced Commodity & Sub-Tier Leadership: Develop Tier 1 supplier strategies, and assess semiconductor sub-tiers (e.g., SiC, IGBTs) to secure capacity, mitigate risk, and ensure technology alignment.
  • Cost & Value Optimization: Drive TCO improvements through should-cost analysis, benchmarking, value engineering, and strategic negotiations, supporting design-to-cost and localization.
  • Cross-Functional Integration: Partner with Engineering, Manufacturing, Finance, and Quality to embed design-for-supply-chain principles and align with BOM, manufacturability, and program goals.
  • Supplier Performance & Relationship Management: Manage global supplier performance across cost, quality, delivery, and capacity while leading executive relationships, business reviews, and continuous improvement.
  • Risk Mitigation & Resilience: Identify and mitigate supply chain risks, including geopolitical and capacity constraints, and lead contingency planning to ensure continuity.
  • Sustainability & Compliance: Drive a sustainable supply base aligned with carbon neutrality, ensuring ethical sourcing and ESG compliance.
