About The Position

This will include merchandising, store operations, and all other functional areas. The role will be responsible for determining annual promotions to sustain leadership in the environmental industry. The position will be the focal point for external groups seeking explanation or partnership on environmental/sustainable concerns. The Sr. Manager of Environmental Innovation will be responsible for leading processes and research for "green" products and sustainable development within the organization.

Requirements

  • Must be eighteen years of age or older.
  • Must be legally permitted to work in the United States.
  • The knowledge, skills and abilities typically acquired through the completion of a bachelor's degree program or equivalent degree in a field of study related to the job.
  • 8 years of work experience
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities and schedule demands.
  • Ability to delegate effectively
  • Ability to develop programs and best practices for environmental change and sustainability throughout the Merchandising Organization
  • Proven ability to communicate to audiences at varied levels, internal and external to the company - oral and written

Nice To Haves

  • Bachelor's degree, preferably in a related industry with a focus on Environmental Marketing
  • Proven ability to implement intitatives in a fast-paced retail enviornment
  • Competence in project and process management, organization and strategic planning with the ability to execute a tactical plan
  • Strong project management skills and ability to effectively communicate and/or present complex processes or activities.
  • Knowledge of e-business and direct fulfillment merchandising solutions

Responsibilities

  • Creates, coordinates and manages environmental initiatives within the Merchandising Organization as well as other functional groups. Serves as captain for determination of "Eco Options" environmentally-friendly product and vendor selections.
  • Creates and manages relationships with environmental organization, both private and governmental; to include developing program direction and researching issue (protest) areas.
  • Coordinates activities through team members, merchants and marketing the advertising and marketing of "Eco Options" products.
  • Manages the environmental team on a daily basis. Provides direction to third party organizations that verify and direct suppliers' environmental marketing claims.
  • Coordinates and provides direction to store maintenance and construction, store operations, SSC functional areas to reduce the Company's impact on the environment. Leads and creates educational products and literature for associates and customers.
