About The Position

The Senior Manager Engineering is responsible for the efficient, effective, and safe operation and up-keep of all production and service equipment and facility throughout the plant. This role is responsible for the functioning of the general maintenance, organization, and coordination of the shop and field activities including: installation, repair, inspection, fabrication, movement, and maintenance of all machinery, plant equipment, warehouse, laboratories, plant buildings, and structures all while ensuring compliance to cGMP. Also, this role will manage engineering projects, be responsible for preparation and management of the capital budget, facility expansion, and installation of new equipment.

Requirements

  • B.S. in Mechanical or Chemical Engineering or equivalent educational background.
  • 5+ years’ experience in manufacturing operations, engineering, or management, in GMP environments.
  • Experience directly managing teams
  • Exhibits high degree of independence, receiving minimal supervision.
  • Confidentiality required due to access to blueprints and written procedures regarding manufacturing of products.
  • High degree of communication required to interface with other employees, customers, and suppliers.

Responsibilities

  • Manages and leads all engineering and maintenance programs
  • Plans and schedules work distribution and load, supervise activities of technicians and contractors in various craft and trade shops
  • Manages design, engineering, development, construction, and maintenance of manufacturing facilities and equipment to improve operation efficiency, quality, cost, and compliance to the FDA, DEA, OSHA, and other regulatory agencies
  • Optimizes equipment performance and utilization
  • Develops, manages, and controls engineering budgets
  • Develops, updates, and implements predictive and preventive maintenance programs and insures compliance to cGMP and EH&S guidelines and policies
  • Coordinate with other departments (Manufacturing, QA/QC, Compliance, Validation, Product/Tech. Development, Regulatory, HR, etc.), relevant regulatory agencies and outside contractors to resolve conflicts, potential problems, and insure work orders and projects are successfully completed
  • Promote and insure implementation of cost control, quality improvement, and safety programs
  • Develops and updates engineering SOPs and ensure compliance to their execution
  • Establishes training programs or policy to make sure technicians continue to improve technical skills and stay current with SOPs
  • Interface with packaging, manufacturing, shipping/receiving, quality control, outside vendors and customers.
  • Works on special assignments as required
