The Senior Manager, Due Diligence role will support the Property Compliance & Diligence team in the due diligence process across all transactions (Acquisition, Refinancings, Dispositions). This role will also provide support with the document management process including the document management needs associated with transactions and will collaborate regularly with cross functional teams including but not limited to Transactions and Regional Asset Management.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Real Estate, Finance, Business or a related field.
  • 5-7+ years of experience in real estate industry, preferably with Property Management and Transaction experience
  • Excellent communication skills and sense of urgency
  • Strong problem solving and analytical skills
  • Ability to multi-task and prioritize in a fast-paced environment
  • Ability to work in an organized, detailed manner
  • Leadership or mentorship experience preferred
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office products including Excel, Teams, PowerPoint, and other financial modeling tools

Responsibilities

  • Develop and implement strategies, processes and procedures for managing the diligence process across all transactions (Acquisition, Refinancings, Dispositions). Including identifying the need for technology enhancement and improvement and working with the appropriate teams to implement.
  • Manage the end-to-end due diligence process through high volume, complex transactions, including diligence preparation, data room set up, diligence material review, and managing communication related to property diligence across all transactions (Acquisition, Refinancings, Dispositions).
  • Lead and manage direct reports and team members, providing guidance and training. Mentor team members and invest in their professional growth and development.
  • Demonstrate strong analytical skills by effectively gathering, evaluating and interpreting data and documentation to make informed decisions and drive problem solving in a fast-paced environment.
  • Identify risks that could affect assets and transactions and present findings to senior management along with potential solutions and risk mitigation strategies.
  • Identify areas for improving the document management processes for due diligence processes.
  • Work closely with cross-functional teams and stakeholders to ensure due diligence process is aligned with company goals.
  • Work closely with Directors and VPs to ensure diligence functions are being properly executed.
  • Provide support during post-close as needed.
  • Prepare reporting as necessary, summarizing findings, potential risks and recommended actions.
  • Track deadlines and manage tight timelines to ensure tasks and projects are completed on schedule.
  • Serve as point of contact for external customers and clients throughout the diligence process.
  • Assist with confirming compliance with regulatory requirements, internal policies, and legal standards.
  • Respond to requests for information and ensure timely access to documents.
  • Other duties as assigned.
