American Express Global Commercial Services (GCS) Products is the leading payment card issuer for corporations and small businesses, offering products and services to help them run and grow their business. Within GCS Products, the Financials Core Services team is seeking a dynamic individual to help create and bring to market the next generation of payment and financial capabilities through API products.

Requirements

Strong technical background with understanding of API and domain architecture
Proven ability to identify and understand business needs, turn them into technology solutions, and effectively prioritize the roadmap for delivery
Proven track record in leading large product initiatives from concept to execution
Strong ability to collaborate across teams and drive alignment on priorities and execution.
Experience defining and delivering product roadmaps, managing multiple priorities while adapting to evolving business needs.
Strong analytical skills with experience using data and research to guide decision-making.
Proficiency in documenting business solutions to ensure a clear understanding of platform capabilities and their role in product development.
Familiarity with agile methodologies and product development frameworks.

Nice To Haves

5+ years of experience in platform development
Bachelor's degree in business, computer science, engineering, or a related field.

Responsibilities

Engage in early strategic planning and discovery to define MVP scope, point-of-arrival vision, and phased delivery approaches that balance near term impact with long-term scalability.
Lead the E2E development of domain capabilities and API products that enhance efficiency, scalability, and meet customer needs across the business ecosystem.
Drive collaboration with engineering, business stakeholders and cross-functional teams to align priorities, resolve trade-offs, and accelerate delivery of high impact initiatives.
Identify opportunities to enhance existing capabilities to improve scalability and speed to market.
Proactively identify inefficiencies in current processes and create strategies to streamline workflows to improve outcomes.
Leverage data-driven insights to refine digital capabilities, optimize usability, and drive adoption at scale.
Communicate strategies, progress, and outcomes to senior leadership and updates to senior leadership and key stakeholders.
Foster a culture of accountability, collaboration, and coaching team members while modeling execution excellence.
