The role is a full-time position located in Santa Clara, CA, Irvine, CA and Cincinnati, OH (as long as the employee can support Pacific Standard Time work hours) with an expectation of being in the office 3+ days per week. Learn more at https://www.jnj.com/medtech The Senior Manager, Surgical Robotics Demand, Inventory, and Service Planning will be accountable for developing the consensus forecast, optimizing inventory, managing service/repair planning, and achieving customer service goals. This includes demand planning, inventory planning, new product launch planning, execution oversight, and monitoring and reporting of results to management. Additional responsibilities include facilitating Demand Review forum(s), part of the Integrated Business Planning (IBP) process and identifying drivers of key performance metrics and action plans to meet/exceed business targets. The Demand, Inventory and Service planning manager works in close collaboration with commercial, finance, R&D, value stream/product management, and Service/repair ensure aligned business decisions are driven and appropriately communicated throughout the organization. This individual will report to the Surgical Robotics Global Planning leader.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree required, advanced degree preferred
  • Minimum of 8 years of related experience, with at least 4 years in a leadership role.
  • Minimum of 4 years of people management experience
  • Experience in Demand Planning (especially new product launches) and Inventory planning
  • Cross-functional organizational change experience, especially with finance and commercial, at all levels in the organization
  • Proven track record of challenging the “status-quo”, visualizing potential opportunities and implementing actions to build value.
  • Demonstrate strong communication, interpersonal, and presentation skills.
  • Strong project management capabilities
  • Proven analytical/quantitative skills with high proficiency in Microsoft Excel
  • Understand end-to-end supply chain interactions and interdependencies
  • Materials Requirement Planning (MRP) and Advanced Planning & Scheduling (APS) experience.

  • Experience in healthcare / regulatory dependent sector
  • Experience in Service/repair planning (service parts planning, field replacement units)
  • Experience planning for field inventory, forward stocking locations, and trunk stock

Responsibilities

  • Facilitate Demand Review IBP forum with commercial and finance to develop a 24-month rolling forecast and identify Risks & Opportunities to close gaps to the financial plan target.
  • Develop demand planning process and tools for New Product Introduction (NPI) forecast for capital and consumables
  • Partner with cross-functional to develop the Long Range Portfolio Plan (LRPP) and scenarios used to as input to Long Range Financial Plans (LRFP), Strategic Capacity Management (SCM), and E2E Supply Chain Strategy.
  • Responsible for setting and achieving annual inventory business plan ($ and DOS), managing inventory tracking processes and reconciliation (i.e. actual vs. plan), and identifying/implementing inventory reduction opportunities.
  • Implement inventory processes and tools governing inventory entitlement.
  • Direct the supply chain inventory, segmentation strategies, and setting governing inventory policies and standards.
  • Achieve metrics including forecast accuracy (MAPE, Bias, Forecast Value Add), inventory ($ and DOS), Slow Moving/Obsolete (SLOB), and customer service (OTIF, Backorders).
  • Responsible for identifying and initiating planning scenarios to drive/support decision making through the process
  • Develop and deploy servicing/repair planning and inventory management processes and tools to manage capital and re-usable consumables including Field Replacement Units (FRUs), Forward Stocking Locations (FSLs), other field inventory, and service/repair parts.
  • Partner with service and repair and commercial functions to ensure appropriate inventory and customer service targets.
  • Overall Responsible for communicating business related issues or opportunities to next management level.
  • Creates and maintains in-depth analytical tools to support issue resolution, decision making, and execution oversight
  • Identify and drive improvements of the IBP, demand, service/repair, and inventory processes.
  • Understand impact of required changes
  • Provide leadership to a team of supply chain planning analysts by recruiting, training, mentoring, and rewarding for high levels of company contribution.
  • Ensure subordinates follow all Company guidelines related to Health, Safety and Environmental practices and that all resources needed to do so are available and in good condition
  • Ensure personal and Company compliance with all Federal, State, local and Company regulations, policies, and procedures
  • Build strong collaborative relationships with stakeholders including Marketing, Finance, and supply chain teams leading cross-functional/ virtual teams where required.
