What you will be doing: Lead, develop, and manage content strategy that supports and extends business objectives, driving both short-term wins and long-term growth. Challenge associates to become recognized leaders in online content for Staples websites, utilizing cutting-edge technologies and innovative approaches. Analyze user behavior to evaluate and prioritize future content investments, ensuring our customers find what they need with ease. Write, structure, and enforce style guides that showcase product benefits and set the tone for consistent, engaging content across product categories. Partner directly with vendors to develop and maintain Staples content guidelines, identifying opportunities to enhance content, improve conversion rates, and fuel incremental sales. Conduct competitive research to ensure content strategies deliver a best-in-class customer experience. Influence and build consensus among multiple stakeholders, including Director-level leaders, on taxonomy, product attributes, and content development initiatives. Work cross-functionally with Merchandising, Global Site Operations, SEO, and other internal teams to align and optimize process improvements. Project management, including effective planning, coordination, and follow-through across all stakeholders. Identify weaknesses in existing content and strategy through performance/KPI monitoring and propose improvement opportunities that drive business results. Provide readouts on enrichment efforts, content strategy success, and communicate impactful findings to senior leadership.

Requirements

  • Strategic planning and project management skills, with strong organizational abilities and a proven track record of multitasking.
  • Deep knowledge of content best practices, with a passion for elevating Staples to be a leader in online content.
  • Ability to lead, persuade, and resolve conflict, fostering effective collaboration and communication with senior teams.
  • Experience managing deadlines for multiple projects simultaneously.
  • Superior attention to detail, independent work style, and confident decision-making skills.
  • Dynamic, forward-thinking professional with an exceptional record of success.
  • 8 years or more work experience with demonstrated e-commerce experience.
  • Proficient in MS Office tools, with emphasis on Excel and PowerPoint.
  • Well-versed in content best practices.
