About The Position

Content Acquisitions & Programming Planning Senior Manager supports content partnerships, acquisition efforts, and programming planning for Xumo Play. This role reports to the Executive Director of Content Acquisition. The Senior Manager is managing a roster of content partners as well as negotiating and supporting all deal management. Additionally, the Senior Manager is making programming decisions to increase engagement and revenue for content on Xumo Play, Xumo Enterprise, and for the Xumo house channels.

Requirements

  • 6-8 years experience in media and entertainment, preferably at a streaming platform
  • Experience working on media contracts - rev share, inventory split, license, etc.
  • Broad knowledge and passion for media, entertainment, and content
  • Ability to research and analyze data
  • Excellent project management, organizational skills, ability to prioritize workload, and manage partner expectations
  • Ability to work independently and meet tight deadlines with minimal supervision
  • A creative spirit, collaborative mindset, eagerness to learn, and a team player.

Responsibilities

  • Support all deal management functions, including evaluating opportunities, negotiating contracts, managing rights, terms, and content windowing, as well as scheduling, prioritizing and optimizing Xumo Play's expanding content library in an effort to grow viewership, increase content awareness, and enhance the user experience
  • Manage a roster of key content partners, including leading on discussions around partnership terms, advising on efforts around engagement and revenue growth, and any other business items related to the partnership
  • Disseminating relevant contract summaries and partner updates across key internal stakeholders including executives, content operations, editorial, ad operations, finance, and legal
  • Assist in updating and auditing documents and rights management and content systems to ensure compliance for all content available on our service
  • Assist with internal projects and regular and ad hoc management presentations
  • Analyze and evaluate trends in the industry, content performance, and consumer behavior
  • Collaborate, ideate, implement programming stunts, and channel launches, including efforts around the Xumo house channels
  • Use data to support the success of content, channels, and scheduling strategies
  • Work as a collaborative partner within the Content team which includes standards and practices around the quality of programming
  • Engage with the larger Xumo organization, partnering with the Editorial teams, Content Operations, etc..
  • Review content catalogs from studios, distributors, and production companies as well as select independent outlets
  • Consistent exercise of independent judgment and discretion in matters of significance.
  • Regular, consistent and punctual attendance. Must be able to work nights and weekends, variable schedule(s) and overtime as necessary.
  • Other duties and responsibilities as assigned.
