We are searching for a Senior Manager - Cloud Architecture and Engineering to join our team located at our headquarters in Lake Forest, IL. As the Senior Manager - Cloud Architecture and Engineering, you will lead the architecture, design and delivery of all cloud platform solutions across the enterprise. The focus of the role is to assure secure, reliable and flexible services in support of RCP digital enterprise. The scope includes architecture and engineering activities in collaboration with operations team, security team and business stakeholders. Reporting to the Director of Architecture and Engineering, you will interface with internal teams and managed services partners to maximize the value of RCP's investment in cloud technology. Requirements

  • 8+ years of work experience of leading hosting operations, manufacturing environments preferred.
  • Ability to assess and communicate hosting and cloud operations concepts, cost models and practices, with both business and IT stakeholders.
  • Proven experience in working in hybrid delivery models, where services are delivered by internal teams, partnering with managed services providers.
  • Prior experience with AWS supporting hybrid environment including PaaS and IaaS.
  • Thorough understanding of the following concepts, practices, and technologies: Cloud Infrastructure Solutions Cloud Security and Identity Management Automation and Infrastructure as a code High availability solutions Disaster recovery
  • Excellent problem-solving skills, ability to lead the team through critical incident resolution and service restoration.
  • Knowledge of and experience in building and running hosting operations teams, including managed services partners.
  • Strong people skills, collaborative ability to work with IT stakeholders inside and outside of the organization.
  • Thorough understanding of both ITIL practices.
  • Experience working with Waterfall and Agile project management frameworks.
  • Experience with AWS cloud platform.
  • Working knowledge and understanding of CI/CD.
  • Experience with securing cloud-based workloads.
  • Prior experience of participating in design, implementation, and migration to a cloud environment.
  • Strong verbal, written, and presentation skills.
  • Must be able to work independently, exercising sound judgment and initiative.
  • Perform well under pressure and stressful situations.
  • Ability to travel 5%.

Responsibilities

  • Own and evolve the enterprise cloud architecture by leading the strategic direction and technical oversight of the organization's cloud architecture, ensuring alignment with business goals, scalability, and long-term sustainability.
  • Design and implement resilient cloud solutions: Architect cloud environments that prioritize high availability, disaster recovery, performance, and security for commercial off-the-shelf (COTS) applications and internal workloads.
  • Drive modernization and optimization initiatives: Evaluate existing IaaS-based solutions and lead efforts to transition toward PaaS and native cloud services to maximize operational efficiency and business value.
  • Enable FinOps practices across cloud operations. Develop and implement financial governance strategies that promote cost transparency, accountability, and optimization across cloud resources and services.
  • Lead deployment of commercial software in the cloud: Oversee the integration, configuration, and lifecycle management of COTS applications within cloud environments, ensuring compliance, performance, and supportability.
  • Establish and maintain cloud governance frameworks. Implement robust technical and financial governance models to ensure consistent standards, policy adherence, and optimal performance across the cloud landscape.
  • Champion cloud-native adoption and automation. Promote the use of cloud-native tools, services, and automation techniques to enhance agility, reduce manual effort, and improve scalability across the technology ecosystem.
