Summary Statement: The Senior Manager, Catering and Conference Services oversees all planning and operational aspects of conference groups, acts as a liaison between clients and Resorts World Las Vegas, and coordinates group needs with various departments. Responsibilities include handling group business from sales contract to operations, monitoring room blocks, generating event orders, up-selling and coordinating catering menus, facilitating event details, maintaining client relationships, and collaborating with the sales and food and beverage teams to ensure a successful group experience. Primary Job Duties: – Includes but is not limited to: Implement the handling of group business from Sales Managers after bookings have taken place, ensuring seamless coordination with the hotel operations team and thorough completion of pre and post-conference procedures. Monitor room blocks according to contract terms and information provided by clients to optimize hotel revenue and minimize room attrition. Review sales contracts, including critical details such as room block cutoffs, special concessions, and attrition clauses. Validate these details with clients via turnover letters. Accurately forecast group rooms and group food and beverage revenues for assigned groups and affiliate business. Generate accurate proposals, menus, contracts, and Banquet Event Orders for all assigned events. Coordinate all aspects of client events, including setup, food and beverage, signage, displays, audiovisual requirements, and other event needs. Serve as the liaison between meeting planners and various internal resort departments. Prepare and analyze financial forecasts, pace reports, production recaps, and budgets as needed. Develop and maintain effective client and customer rapport, demonstrating excellent customer service. Prospect and strategize past and potential groups to generate new and repeat business for the resort. Attend pre-conference meetings with clients and relevant departments to confirm all event details are communicated effectively. Coordinate sales efforts between the Sales department and Catering to optimize function space utilization and maximize revenues. Partner with the Food and Beverage team on menus and Banquet Event Orders for all property events. Initiate billing procedures, ensuring timely receipt of deposits and credit applications with adequate information and within acceptable time frames. Serve as a role-model and mentor to other Catering & Conference Managers, offering assistance and leadership to further develop the team. Obtain and maintain position-specific licensing. Ensure that team members obtain and maintain position-specific licensing. Use personal device/cellular phone for job related operational tasks, job duties, review of company documents, etc. Perform other job-related duties as requested. Qualifications: – Includes but is not limited to: Working knowledge of Microsoft Applications. Ability to work varied shifts, including nights, weekends and holidays. Ability to effectively communicate in English. Polished appearance and demeanor. Excellent customer service skills. Ability to possess outstanding organizational, interpersonal, and administrative skills, as well as excellent attention to detail. Ability to obtain and maintain full knowledge and understanding of company and department rules and regulations, policies and procedures. Ability to successfully mentor a team. Preferred: CMP (Certified Meeting Professional) and CPCE (Certified Professional in Catering & Events) designations Working knowledge of Delphi, Opera, Social Tables Previous experience working in a large, luxury resort setting. Minimum Education and Experience: At least five years of experience in Catering and Convention Services in a similar or related field. At least five years of management experience in a 5-star/luxury market or hotel operations field. High School Diploma At least 21 years of age.
