About The Position

Qualcomm is accelerating digital transformation across the retail and payments ecosystem by bringing advanced edge compute, AI, and connectivity technologies into next-generation retail operations, store automation, payment systems, customer engagement, and supply-chain optimization. As Senior Manager of Business Development for the Retail Vertical North America, you will develop and drive Qualcomm’s go-to-market strategy for retailers, payment providers, technology suppliers (POS OEMs, device makers, ISVs, SIs), and ecosystem partners. You will create demand for Qualcomm-based solutions, identify and incubate high-value use cases, and translate industry requirements into actionable insights for Qualcomm’s product management, engineering, and business teams. This is a high-visibility, growth-oriented role requiring strong industry understanding, cross-functional leadership, and the ability to manage and influence diverse internal and external stakeholders.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree and 4+ years of sales, business development, product development or related work experience.
  • OR
  • Associate's degree and 6+ years of sales, business development, product development or related work experience.
  • OR
  • High school Diploma or equivalent and 8+ years of sales, business development, product development or related work experience.
  • This position is eligible to work remotely in the U.S., however there is a strong preference to be based out of Bentonville, Arkansas and will require the ability to travel up to 25%.
  • This role is U.S.-based, and is not eligible for visa sponsorship.

Nice To Haves

  • Ability to use data/AI tools and CRM platforms.

Responsibilities

  • Lead ecosystem engagement across retailers, payments providers, POS/checkout OEMs, ISVs, SIs, cloud providers, and solution vendors to drive adoption of Qualcomm-powered solutions.
  • Create and convert demand by mapping top retail and payment use cases to Qualcomm platforms and technologies.
  • Develop joint propositions with ecosystem partners through co-innovation and co-selling motions.
  • Shape the roadmap by capturing requirements and delivering structured insights to Qualcomm’s product and engineering teams.
  • Drive solution incubation by coordinating PoCs, pilots, and scalable deployments.
  • Negotiate and Close: structure partnerships (NDAs, MOUs, licensing, VAR/OEM/SI agreements), define success criteria, and drive toward scalable deployments and multi‑year agreements.
  • Represent Qualcomm at industry events and ecosystem forums.
  • Operational excellence: forecast accurately, manage pipeline health in CRM, maintain joint business plans, and deliver executive‑ready updates with measurable outcomes.
