About Beacon Kalamazoo Beacon Kalamazoo provides 24/7 emergency care and a Level II Trauma Center. We deliver care for serious life-threatening injuries/illnesses, and your everyday health needs, including labor and delivery. We offer specialty care for heart/vascular disease, lung and sleep disorders, mental health conditions, and women's health. We offer a wide range of outpatient services, including diagnostic imaging, lab tests, respiratory therapy and rehabilitation therapy services. What You'll Do As a Senior Maintenance Mechanic, you will be responsible for maintaining, repairing, and rebuilding, as required, Medical Center equipment and distribution systems to ensure a continuous flow of building utilities.

Requirements

  • As a Senior Maintenance Mechanic, you will bring the knowledge of plumbing, basic electricity, basic electronics, machine repair, and welding which can be obtained in three (3) to five (5) years of work experience is required.
  • You'll demonstrate proficiency in pneumatics: pump operation, construction material assembly and laundry equipment maintenance.
  • High School Diploma or Equivalent (GED) required.
  • Drivers License obtained prior to hire date or job transfer date required.

Nice To Haves

  • Certified Senior Maintenance Professional specializing in Mechanics preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Install, maintain, and repair compressors, vacuum pumps, fluid pumps, compressed air filtration equipment, fan assemblies, and small engines.
  • Maintain utility distribution systems including piping, wiring, etc.
  • Act as a resource person for the Medical Center. Ensures that mechanical and/or electrical equipment is adequate for stated needs and all requirements, codes, and regulations are according to procedure.
  • Maintain a clean and hazard free work area. Adhere to safety regulations for all tools and equipment.
  • Responsible for the installation and general repair of electrical wiring, fixtures, and equipment not requiring a Licensed Electrician.
