Our meals are cooked to order, so our cooks must be able to work the line, run a broiler, grill steaks, and sear fresh salmon. YOUR DAY-TO-DAY Legacy Village Salt River delivers restaurant-style dining, with two different dining options, as well as Bistro. As one of our Cooks, you prepare meals for our residents. Dining is an important part of the social fabric here; we cook to order, providing an enjoyable, personalized experience. Careful attention to dietary needs, and understanding that we monitor quality for taste, smell, appearance, and temperature, is crucial. Seeing the residents enjoy their food makes you feel good! As a member of our team, you keep the kitchen clean and follow food sanitation standards to the letter. Each day, you determine the required amounts of supplies and food needed and make sure the kitchen is fully stocked and ready for service. The facility follows state guidelines, requiring direction from the Culinary Director on portions for prep, inventory and menu item preparation.

Requirements

One year or more of experience as a cook, preferably in a healthcare setting
Current food handler's permit, ServSafe certification preferred
Level 1 Fingerprint clearance card, or the ability to obtain one
Current CPR/First Aid certification
Ability to lift up to 30 pounds
A heart for serving

Scratch cooking, short order line cooking, and baking experience a plus!
