As a Senior Linux System Engineer, you will help ensure today is safe and tomorrow is smarter. Our work depends on a Senior Linux System Engineer joining our team to review, analyze and provide Tier III support for patches and updates, to include testing the baseline in the Engineering Operations Facility (EOF) prior to release to the RCCs. Selected candidate will provide full-time onsite support at our Fort Huachuca facility. MEANINGFUL WORK AND PERSONAL IMPACT: Designs and defines system architecture for new or existing computer systems. You will also develop Enterprise Technical Procedures (ETPs) with the directions to apply patches, upgrades and security configurations and/or updates to the baseline system in the EOF for testing IAW with the STIGs. Ensure that already-provisioned Linux systems are kept in compliance with baseline requirements & ever-changing enterprise policy (e.g., equivalent to Group Policy in the Windows realm for ongoing compliance updates). Monitor all solutions integrated via a centralized alerting system. Develop an operating system lifecycle plan with integration of DoD STIGs and other recommended security standards.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s Degree and a minimum of 5 years’ experience required. An additional 4 years of experience may be substituted in lieu of degree.
  • Active Secret security clearance required.
  • Current DOW IAT level III.
  • VMWare management/administration experience.
  • Thorough experience with Red Hat Enterprise Linux (RHEL), Ubuntu or a derivative.
  • Knowledge of Windows and Linux Security Technical Implementation Guide (STIG) and current DISA’s hardening protocol.
  • Experienced in systems analysis, design, integration, documentation, and engineering.
  • US Citizenship Required
