About The Position

This attorney will be part of the U.S. Legal and Compliance team in a generalist role and the North American lead for anti-bribery and corruption and ethics & compliance for the Helicopters division. With regard to the latter, this position has primarily responsibility for directing, managing, and coordinating activities regarding anti-bribery and corruption and ethics compliance policies, programs, and implementation for Airbus Helicopters, Inc. (the “Company”) and Airbus Helicopters Canada Ltd. (“AHCA”) (collectively, “Airbus Helicopters North America” or “AHNA”). This attorney will be responsible for advising internal and external customers and suppliers, as well as Airbus colleagues worldwide, on U.S. legal and compliance matters. In addition, the attorney must be ready to handle anything and everything that walks through the door.

Requirements

  • Juris Doctorate from an accredited law school
  • Minimum of ten (10) years of experience practicing law.
  • Minimum of eight (8) years of experience in anti-bribery and corruption or ethics compliance or a combination of compliance, operations, program/function management, and/or risk management roles.
  • Admitted to the bar and in good standing with a license to practice law in at least one U.S. state.
  • Experience with global organizations and international transactions, particularly those involving Europe or Canada.
  • Ability to work under pressure and effectively run multiple complex projects and responsibilities with contending priorities and deadlines.
  • Experience in and skills to achieve independent research and analysis of issues, provide related clear and understandable guidance to client representatives regarding potential risks, and develop mitigation plans and alternative solutions for legal, compliance, and contractual risks.
  • Must be self-starter and have the ability to operate independently as well as to function as productive team member.

  • Knowledge of U.S. regulatory matters (e.g., antitrust, CFIUS, ESG, immigration, employee benefits, export control, FAR) and bankruptcy laws.
  • Knowledge of aerospace or aviation industry.
  • Experience with software licensing, data-centric service agreements, and other digital transactions.
  • Knowledge of and experience with government contracts, including FAR and DFAR.
  • Business sense, including a well-developed understanding of the business model and associated risks so that alternative approaches may be considered, developed and implemented.
  • Conversational ability in German, French, and/or Spanish.
