We are looking for a skilled and detail oriented Senior Layout + ECAD Engineer to join our hardware team working on future wearables and accessory devices reporting directly to the Director of Hardware. You will play a crucial role in translating electrical designs into high-quality printed circuit boards for our cutting-edge devices. This opportunity will be hybrid in San Francisco or San Diego.

Requirements

  • Experience: 7+ years of PCB layout experience for consumer electronics products, preferably on small form factor devices
  • CAD Tools: Proficient in layout design, library, and PLM tools, with a strong preference for experience with Altium and TeamcenterTechnical Depth: Deep understanding of HDI technology, EE and RF component placement and routing best practices, impedance control signals, PCB/flex stackups, and PCB/flex DFM constraints
  • Excellent attention to detail and a commitment to quality
  • Strong communication and collaboration skills

Responsibilities

  • Design complex, multi-layer rigid and flexible PCB layouts using Altium Designer, including high-speed digital, precision analog, and power electronics
  • Collaborate with EE, ME, and RF engineers to execute high quality designs that meet DFM constraints and product timelines
  • Collaborate with PCB manufacturers to define PCB stackups, and to ensure that designs meet all DFM constraints
  • Evaluate PCB trends and processes to drive innovation and miniaturization of our products
  • Manage our component library including symbol creation, footprint generation, and integrating 3D models
  • Manage BOM releases, coordinating with procurement, and ensuring all components are active and sourced.
