About The Position

This Senior IT Project Manager position is responsible for managing multiple medium to large system-wide projects involving various information technology platforms. The role serves as a leader within Information Services (IS), continually enhancing project management techniques and methods, and mentoring new or less experienced project managers. As a High Reliability Organization (HRO), the role emphasizes safety, quality, and efficiency in performing job duties.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's Degree in Project Management (Required) or equivalent experience in lieu of a bachelor's degree
  • PMP - Project Management Professional - Project Management Institute certification
  • Six years in a project manager role or comparable work experience
  • PMI-focused project management training or comparable training
  • Experience managing multiple medium to large scale IT projects simultaneously

Nice To Haves

  • Project management certification recommended (PMP, PgMP, or PfMP); otherwise, a plan for attainment OR a graduate level Degree
  • Bachelor's Degree in IT, Healthcare, or Business Administration
  • Eight years or more of IT project management experience in a healthcare setting

Responsibilities

  • Lead project teams through planning, executing, and controlling activities that result in completing deliverables that meet the customers requirements.
  • Plan for project scope, budget, schedule, resource management, risk management, performance management, and stakeholder management.
  • Lead multiple medium to large complex projects simultaneously while proactively identifying and managing stakeholders, validating customer, business and technical success factors, expectations and communicates effectively with project stakeholders.
  • Lead projects in a manner consistent with the IS PMO methodology.
  • Monitor compliance with project management standards.
  • Promote effective communication with internal and external customers.
  • Effectively communicate with executives.
  • Engage project sponsors regularly to improve project outcomes.
  • Effectively facilitate and present at project meetings.
  • Effectively solve problems and facilitate decision making.
  • Provide leadership in Information Services or respective department.
  • Take an active role in continually advancing and improving project management practices and actively lead initiatives to accomplish departmental goals.
  • Serve in the role of a mentor to new or less experienced project managers.
  • Coach project managers to improve performance, as appropriate.
  • Set an example for project accountability and professional behavior.
  • Promote a team atmosphere and regularly share knowledge with others.
  • Focus on safety, quality and efficiency in performing job duties as a High Reliability Organization (HRO).
